The only reason the clones can be sold at all is due to the laughable state of Chinese patents law.

If you download a Pirated movie both you and the original uploader have broken the law.


Try branding your own Panasonic or Sony Electrical item and see if you get away with it.


The original OP was making a very good point, and sooner or later the law will see to it that his point is addressed.

I agree with hiddenusername that we are all nice guys on here (at least I have found so) and I understand where you are coming from in wanting to protect the idea men, but at the end of the day people will always try to get something as cheap as possible, it's unfortunately the society we live in, look at clothing labels as an example. Being a travelled gent I am sure you have seen the fake designer brands in the far East. Everyone knows it goes on, personally I don't buy it, and it's not right.
But as I said in my post blatant copies I am against quality kit based on originals (again my fogger and Magneto) I believe are fair game.
I can see people have strong views on this (bit like religion and politics I guess). I appeciate your view but not being quite as fortunate as yourself (not through not trying) I just try get get the most I can for my cash.
Hopefully we can all accept this and stop the personal attacks and accept the views of others whatever they may be.
(Still be up for that drink if you fancy it when your next in curzon) and that goes for anyone
We all come from different backgrounds and circumstances but we have 2 things in common, vaping and not wanting to be on stinkies. I had the good fortune to meet another member today and hope to meet More in person in future.

The OP sounds all of 11 years old. Pirating movies is theft and is illegal. Producing hardware that's similar to big name products isn't unless you are stealing brand names. You can't get your head around copycats which is not the same as stealing.
People have been copying Sony products for years and they get away with it because they don't 'brand' them but it's obvious to everyone what they are.

TV's, DVD players, Bluray players and yes e cig products if you don't use the brand name you're not stealing anything. Everyone knows what they are and they live or die by their reputation on the market place.

well I was trying to put forward a concept of self regulation.

we sort out the mess by not buying from resellers who sell clones, eventually they dont buy clones as we dont buy clone so they force the far east to innovate, and that they will, seriously they will.

but at the moment it is lacking.

see these debates on every forum but nobody ever as a practical solution or even know where the line should be drawn so what's the point ?

what i am saying is who decides what is a copy and what is not ? most of the smaller vendors sell clones of joytech batts, all genesis type atty's are clones etc etc

a Kayfun is almost a clone of an Oddy albeit with a different wick system..

If you were to avoid all these sellers there wouldn't be many left, so I think selective ideology then comes into play.
