Let's try & put this a different way then: To quote you from a different thread- And then from this thread- (now I appreciate you didn't buy Linux, but you may have done being RedHat) So where do we stand with playing mp3 files on a Linux system using Lame (which is surely a 'clone' of the mp3 codec)? (& do you have separate licences for each and every one of your windows VMs? )

Cornflakes are long out of patent protection FWIW so no licencing going on there. thats fine then, kelloggs obviously made a load of money for their creation whilst they could. good on them.

then you found it on bootle market for 90% less than the price you set seriously, would you think it was OK ? Yes, because part of your job as an inventor is to make it as cheaply as you can while making a profit. For instance: when Charles Dickens was writing there was copyright law in Britain but not in the US. So the British publishers priced their books high. The US publishers made them as cheap as possible, and advertised the hell out of them, because they had to make their money before the copies came out. The result was that a lot more Americans read Dickens than Britons, and, as it happens, Dickens made more money in America than he did in Britain.

It works this way with everything. Someone invented power steering, it goes into a car. Another car maker goes, well that's good. We'll copy that. A 3D TV was released. Now every maker has 3D TV's. Touch screen phones. Fashion designs. Chocolate, crisp, it happens in every single industry. Would you only by a teddy bear from the original factory that released the original design? Or do you think nothing of grabbing one at your local shop should you ever need one? If so then you're doing what you're so dead against us doing. You're buying a copy. A clone. Someone has taken the original idea and copied it. Made it for less and is selling it. If you are doing something you are telling us you're dead set against. Unless you buy originals of everything from original manufacturers then you can't really take offence at clones in a particular industry. power steering is patented, the design or idea is controled by registered designs that either the manufacturer creates OR licences Clicky 3d TV technology is licenced, be it active, passive or glasses free clickytouch screen phones, depending on what tech is used it is licenced from the patent holder Clickyfashion - sorry no idea chocolate - no idea crisps - again unsure teddy bear - no idea I dont buy any of the no idea stuff Don't feed the troll ffs !!! You’ve made your point, and, droned on about it for long enough! We understand your position and arguments, so allow us to come to our own conclusion on the debate you have created, without endlessly niggling away at the same point again, and again, and again. This is a friendly and helpful forum, not sure what your motif here is? I will for sure will not be looking at your answer to this will be Mrnousername or whatever.

I don't want nor require a ' solution ' to clones thank you . . . I'm old enough to make my own mind up about where and what I spend my money on.
In my time as a vaping consumer and a consumer in general, I've bought originals and the clones/copies of them.
There's a market for both in my opinion.

I've never had a hoover Must say, I do like Henry I love my Henry too... And these days it's more like - can I afford a Dyson? Or go for one of the many cheaper Dyson clones Don't get me wrong, I can understand how hiddenusername feels & IMHO, he certainly isn't a troll.
