Nicotine or throat hit? - please discuss.

I like TH and get it fine from 18mg though I vape a lot at that level nic. With 24mg I get a good nic hit and I am not vaping like a maniac but then find the TH is too harsh, like smoking Marlborough Reds or similar.
So what I have done to resolve this problem is to stay at 18mg and vape like a maniac. In other words, I haven't solved it at all

People used to say using vodka to thin the VG increased the throat hit, never tried it myself though

Hmm, interesting responses so far, thanks all.
I've tried the Bite-extra, but only ready mixed in a juice, not as an additive. I found the TH too big, even at 18mg. Perhaps adding it a drop at a time until I find a happy spot would work - thanks for that!
Interesting that the TH is important for some of us, but less so for others. Also interesting that no TH at all (vaping 0nic) makes the juice in someway lacking.
I do have an AGA-T but find it ineffective using a 3mm silica wick - perhaps I need to investigate this area more, once funds allow. I don't fancy the mesh route, TBH, as I have read that it's only good for tobacco flavours, and I vape mostly fruits and desserts. I think I'll have a go recoiling it again to see if I can get some more flavour from it - I think there's a YouTube session coming on soon!
Whilst I am definitely a nicotine addict, I would like to reduce things a bit as 1) it works out a lot cheaper mixing at a lower strength (it's the nic base which is the most expensive ingredient) and 2) if things do go belly-up in a few years, I would like to be able to manage on lower strength juice.
There is also the palpitations thing I mentioned in the OP - this has now disappeared completely, and I do wonder if this was my body readjusting to the lack of nasties in some way. It was thoroughly checked out by my GP, and I'm now on BP pills, probably for the rest of my life, but I really don't mind about that!

I vape between 11mg and 18mg.

Throat hit is everything to me as I can only vape unflavoured liquid and without that I am up the swannie without a paddle. I am sticking to 18mg nicotine as I got down to 6mg, over vaped and then some, and am now left with a sensitivity to pg as I have pumped vast amounts in my body no doubt. I was vaping to find that throat hit in hope that the next one will give it to me, it never did but I lived in hope. I am not looking to reduce at all now and would rather have a vape for a few mins every two or three hours and it count, hit my throat, than go back to doing chain vaping and it not really giving me a satisfying sensation. I also think on low nic I have vaped more, searching, so in fact have probably vaped more nic and have certainly vaped more pg, hence the reaction. I think th is important to me as it really truly reminds me of having a ciggy and I get a lot of comfort from that.

throat hit is a must for me...I vape 20-24mg at at least 80-20 PG. Any lower than this in either and I'm getting frustrated. I've got a mixing session overdue, and was going to do some 90-10 and 24mg 'coz I've not done any for a few months and it gives a decent TH.

Oddly, I've got an evod and a protank-2 on the go at the moment. Evod is cr@p for TH, but the PT-2 is surprisingly pleasant...didn't think a bottom-feeder would be as good for TH as this is being.... weird. It still doesn't match a bauway ce4 or iclear16 though

It's flavour for me, more so than throat hit. I've been using 18mg liquids at 70pg/30vg but find some have more throat hit than others. I got hold of a 9mg peach flavour 70pg/30vg and found that one had even more throat hit than my 18mg liquids which surprised me

Too much throat hit and I find I end up with a sore throat, and anyway I'm much more for getting / finding the nicest flavours I can and then I'm happy vaping away without any throat hit if I have to to get the flavour/s.

Not yet GunJack he's coughing and spluttering away with the remnants of the bug he caught, so not even attempting to get him vaping until he's fully recovered from that. No point whilst he's already got a sore throat and can't stop coughing and wheezing.

As soon as he's fit enough I will literally march him up to the shop and get some VG liquid down him

I was a Malboro (Red) and Gauloise user for pretty much 35 years then about 5 using Drum or similar. I have tried all sorts of attie's, clearo's from the cheap to the mid range kit and too many juice variations to list ... I appear to be happy(ish) for the mo' with an 18mg 50/50 mix mainly  RY4's and coffee/caramel types.

There are times when I feel I could do with a Bigger T/H and Nic rush, mainly when stressed (I don't do stress very well nowadays, but that's another story).  I tend to turn up the power a notch or two and if I get a dry hit then that cures me of wanting a bigger hit until my throat returns to normal.

I would be court marshalled, shot and brought back the next day and lynched if I lapsed back into the old ways!!
