hello everyone my first time posting but here it goes, at the min i am using the provape and vaping on a protank, have tryed to recoil myself but dont seem to be getting the same vape and hit ,what i would like to know whats the best wick and wire to use ,when i look up sites they all seem to be the came to me so help would be great

flynn I would get some .20 kanthal and a few metres of 2mm and 3mm silica to start, you could coil almost anything with these 3 items. Don't coil the silica too tight (use a straightened paper clip as a splint) and make sure you have enough wick in the slots once the chimney is back on to prevent flooding, play about with it you'll soon find a set up that works well.

Agree with poochops, 2 or 3mm silica and .20 it's all you need.

I have some 0.25 Kanthal in my new pack of stuff.

It'll be interesting to see what kind of resistances I get. I really have no idea....I ordered it and took a guess it might work for some of my needs.

I have some 0.16 Nichrome for my RDA and it's too high. Most of my 0.2 Kanthal wraps come out above 2.0ohms, so this is my next experiment.

all great ideas ,but where is the best place in the uk to buy wick and wire ,and whats the best to use on a protank /size of wick and wire would be great

I am quite new to recoiling my own heads (protank) I use 0.2 Kanthal and 2mm ekowool - both from www.vape-atomizer-mesh.com/

I also use a greigster's coil buddy which makes the whole process effortless!

sal was looking at the greigster's coil buddy great idea ,with me i am ok at making the coils but they dont seem to be giving out a good vape ,so what i was looking is the right size of wick and wire, when you go into the sites where they have the stuff you need they have so much on sale

Wire the bigger the spool the better the price, 50m of 0.2mm kanthal is £6.50

Great advice above - I also use .2 Kanthal and 2mm Ekowool, and order from Vape Atomizer Mesh. I use a thin needle for supporting my coils, and 4 wraps gets about 2ohm, which is perfect for my Protanks and the odd Vivi Nova.

My quick and easy recoil on a protank is 3mm ecowool and 1.6 kanthal. It does tend to come out high res though. I don't care much - the vamo just cranks up the volts - but you might prefer a lower res wire. Thing about a vamo is that if you get the res too low it won't work at all.

Better flavour but more faff is cotton wool (organic balls from Boots) and a microcoil, for which I use .28 kanthal
