Not read the full linked text, smacks of Stan the mechanic spinning his lies......again. That man needs locking up for all our safety. Criminal charges or mental health act, I'm not fussy.

This is where such a report reveals itself. Is 200-400 puffs the "equivalent" of three packs? Is 0.8ml of 16mg liquid the same as 60 B&H? Laughable. These comments work on the assumption that the cig-a-like brands are telling the truth. Which they are not. Depressing really, but hey....it's the Daily Mail.

Actually - I think there are toxins in the paper used by newspapers to print their rags. ???
Perhaps, rather than speculating, the anti's should actually come up with some evidence.
It IS the new way of the world - you can say anything (more or less) you like about anything....because unless it can be proven to the contrary, nobody can do a single thing.
That is how the "lites" companies (you know, those two or three, or four now?) can claim one £3.99 cartomiser is 40 cigarettes.

Dr Deepak Saxena, associate professor of basic science and craniofacial biology (they forgot to mention in the dentistry faculty) does not appear to have had his research published, at least not noted on his CV. www.nyu.edu/dental/faculty/bios/ft/ds100

Maybe Dr Sexana is writing as a concerned "associate professor of basic science" (?!) at his work.
If "12 per cent of e-cig users had never smoked a conventional cigarette" that is a worry taken out of context.
But, let's say for every 1,000 students, 50 use e-cigs then that = SIX people using e-cigs who've never smoked. Better those six take up vaping than smoking. Hardly an epidemic for our times. ???

Peeps. We all know that the Daily "FAIL", prints a lot of rubbish. Just add to this to the pile.
Just keep an eye on the Parliament MP`s meeting on Monday 16th @ 4.20pm, watch it on BBC parliament channel, regarding the
debate on e- cigarettes.
Don`t forget to TWEET on Sunday 15th, 8.00 - 10.00 pm. only use #EUecigBAN.

Just diabolically bad. Terrible terrible journalism, typical of the newspaper, but try explaining why to its readers....
I treat the people I meet as having the beneficial use of the brains they were born with, but then I'm a generous person in that respect. The reality is that habitual readers of the daily mail either enjoy the comedy of the continuous irony, or rather they actually believe what they're reading. Sadly a large proportion probably fall into the latter
I'd rather read the North Korea Daily Voice of the Saviour and Great Leader, at least I get a bit of a balance in opinion there.

But, let's say for every 1,000 students, 50 use e-cigs then that = SIX people using e-cigs who've never smoked. Better those six take up vaping than smoking. Hardly an epidemic for our times. ??? It isn't taken out of context, it is simply misquoted. The daily Fail didn't mangle it themselves, they repeated someone else's misquote without checking it (it took me nearly 3 minutes to check it). This is the research. It didn't find 12% of e-cig users at college hadn't smoked, it found 12% of "ever users" of e-cigs hadn't smoked. In other words 12% of people who tried nicotine had the sense to try it first in an e-cig, not a cigarette. The actual % of college students who had tried an e-cig (in these N. Carolina colleges) was 4.9%, but only 1.5% had had one in the last month. The study didn't report on how many of the 4.9% or the 1.5% had actually had more than one puff. Nor did it report on the number of smokers, the number who had switched from smoking to e-cigs, or anything else useful. Oh, and does NYU do medical research? No, it doesn't. The 'researchers' in NY are at the College of Dentistry. As far as I can see they haven't published any of their own research, just misquoted the N Carolina stuff and rambled on about dangers. I assume they are in search of a grant. Actual number of student users in the US - data available to anyone who has heard of Wikipedia - "Among grade 6 to 12 students in the United States, those who have ever used the product increased from 3.3% in 2011 to 6.8% in 2012.[40] Those currently using electronic cigarettes increased from 0.6% to 1.1%." And btw: "A 2013 UK survey by Action on Smoking and Health found that among non-smokers under 18, 1% reported having tried e-cigarettes "once or twice," 0% reported continuing use, and 0% intended to try them in the future. ASH concluded that among children who have heard of e-cigarettes, sustained use is rare and confined to children who smoke or have smoked.[39]"

Thanks for the whole post....most informative. - - - So the idea that non-smoking kids (teenagers) might buy an e-cig, get addicted to nicotine and then become slaves to the evil tobacco companies who are "apparently" running the e-cig market now is kind of floored!??? That is what has been spouted isn't it? That e-cig companies are now owned by tobacco and are trying a new method to get our vulnerable young people hooked for life. (It's all fantasy made up by the anti lobby....)
