Never worked from first puff but now randomly switches itself off and then doesn't switch on. am waiting on a new spring. Slight condensation in battery tube but nothing major
Any ideas on how to fix it?

First question I would ask is where is the condensation from? Is the battery ok? I use three of these daily and never get and form of liquid inside the battery tube.

Don't like the idea of condensation in the tube. What batteries are you using Jane?

Is there any sign off discolouring on the spring or the end cap @johanino ? maybe rust or oxidation?, or maybe a rattly loose battery?

If you can do without it for a bit Jane, I would be more than happy to have a look at it for you @johanino

Just a quick thing, won't help with the condensation - aren't the black efest the protected ones? If so, the protection from the batteries is probably interfering with the vamo circuitry, which may be causing the switching itself off.
I may well be wrong - I'm not very experienced with batteries - but I've got the unprotected red ones, and I've seem the protected ones are black.

I only have V1 and V2 Vamos, and I never have any problems with protected batteries in mine. The only thing I did get once was that because of the extra sleeve on the protected ones it was a little tight, but livable with in my case (could cause a bad contact at either end). There are however a few different manufacturers of Vamos and they probably have a few little technical differences between them causing an issue with the Vamo circuitry. Unprotected are preferable if only for the possible tightness issue

I can lend you an old spare if you are desperate, until your new one arrives.
What size batteries are they ? I found some 18350s wouldn't work properly for me. Try 18650 mode

Jane If this is the one you've bought from us - don't give up on it - just send it back and we'll get it sorted for you. If you are using protected batteries - that is your problem I would guess, so at least try unprotected before giving up on it.
