I think the whole Christmas TV has been atrocious apart from my Downton Abbey. What really annoys me is that every single channel shows mainly child orientated stuff. Now, don't get me wrong, of course there should be plenty for the kids at Christmas, but what about the adults who have no kids at home!? Sick to death of rehashed repeats that have been on at least six times before, or were so bad the first time, you wouldn't want to watch if your life depended on it.
I think these TV companies should be sued as not fit for purpose, and extracting money under false pretences when they advertise the crap as entertainment.

It was all substandard. Fortunately I had the third series of Borgen on my DVR. Nothing says Christmas like ten hours of Danish politics.

Watching the new Open All Hours now. So far, so good. just watched it, and you cannot recreate the same atmosphere without the original characters. I really love David Jason, and he is doing himself no favours in his recent sit-coms. This will never work and I do not want to see a great actor brought down to these levels... either get something that suits you David, in a NEW role, or call it quits, and we'll love you forever. You deserve better. |

Have to agree, it has been the worst christmas tv ever, lovefilm has been used a fair bit here, and am now watching to see how long it takes the wallpaper to fade  |

Just to add, that I blame the writers and producers who thought they could cash in on a revered sit-com with very little work. No original thoughts whatsoever. Let's just pick up our £000s of tax payers money and hope there is enough 'wrinkleys' out there to remember and associate. Well, there wasn't.!!

I thnk this new open all hours is an insult to Ronnie Barkers memory. If he could have seen it I doubt it would have got on TV. Raff is right. David Jason shouldn't need to ride off the back of Ronies success with this. Something new for him would be much better.

I honestly can't remember when I've switched TV off altogether because of it being so crap... and especially when it is so important to so many at this time of year! Well done broadcasters, hope the advertising profits (doesn't excuse you BBC) make up for letting down so many people. I daren't say more for letting them win!
