I can't see you liking that even if you did make it Super-Shiny . . . just looks a bit ' amateurish ' compared to the stuff you enjoy vaping with.

If all the bits n bobs cost £30 it would be worth a punt, but a £130 is a heck of a lot of money for the end result, to my untrained eye anyway.

Super-Shiny you could get a nice piece of wood & using dremel make a nice mod yourself (see example mock up)

Rommers, I have been thinking along the same lines as you, having read the article on UKV.

I would quite like to make something similar using all the same components with the exception of the box. I quite fancy getting some sort of stunning wood and inserting all the above listed parts including the DNA20.

I think it would be worth your £130 all day long in terms of the pleasure of building your own Mod.........and ending up with a usable DNA20 Mod would be a bonus.

The instructions on Milo`s PDF seem quite clear to me and I have only ever held a soldering iron for about 2 hours in my whole life. I think the two most important decisions will be the choice of container for the parts and the power source.

I may well try a mock up in some soft wood as a practice just for fun.

I have fallen in love with box mods, I have kept my original chrome Vamo and a cheap Mech mod just for testing coils etc. so would like to give the DNA20 box mod a go.

I look forward to your progress, should you decide to go ahead, keep us all updated with pictures.

I'm also thinking about making a wooden box mod but going for a DNA20 with built in batteries is too much for my little brain to take in so will be starting out much simpler.

£130 for a DNA device is good value and maybe the chipset will drop in price when the new Evolv 30 is released next year.

If i thought a dna20 would be for me, I'd go for it in a second. It's a good price and it does looks very nice.


But I'm already close to 20w with my .9 ohm micro coil and that's higher than I'd really like it, then I'd be way over 20w. I like being able to just swap out batteries as I carry a charger when I'm out at work and 4 18650's - I'd hate to have to worry about plugging it into the wall just at a time that I need to be mobile.

Yes it's a bit more money (£165 delivered) but they have brilliant reviews and sit better in the hand. IMO.

Will probably be cheaper once dna30 arrives too..

Saying that, I very rarely go to 15watts even with microcoils.. Part of me sees 20watts as plain cloud chasing
