Hi Amy and welcome mixing your own is a lot cheaper. You usually need to have your base nic at least twice the strength of your finished juice to allow for flavouring easily but there is no need to waste want you have already bought I made the same mistake when I bought my first nic base just mixed it with stronger and ended up with a weird total of 52mg nic base. No problem using this in any recipe if I use the calculator on the top tab very easy to use and as a bonus you can get ideas for other juices to try. Flavouring is normally PC based so counts towards the pg your recipe needs. All my later purchases have been 72mg base and as I vape 18mg juice easy 25% base to juice

Good luck with the mixing. I do a little now and again, but mostly I buy premade liquid. You can get all sorts from £1.49 to £7 (?).

IF i ever get settled on one liquid (currently vaping LT a lot) I'll make my own.

Be careful on ebay, it's not "all good" on there.

Lots of questions in your replies so I'll try and answer them as best I can, here goes..

OneDay: I know its a bit early to be mixing but I enjoy the satisfactory feeling of making something yourself and it will give me something to do to keep my mind of the cravings, you have to keep busy when trying to quit smoking and its either this or eat everything in the fridge and I don't want to get fat lol.

Carpe Vapor: Thanks for the recipe. Someone should write a book on these things.

lairey: I'm vaping 18mg juice at the moment which seems to be fine, I'm still getting the urge to jump a smoker in the street and take their cigarette but that's normal right?

In reply to your answer to Lairey's question. If you really are feeling like that then it may be worth considering going up to 24mg for a while. I started at 18mg and really struggled to begin with and got really irritable around people smoking.
I upped my nic to 24mg and those anxious feelings passed straight away. I'm now down to 11mg maximum. If you do really feel the 18mg is ok for you then it's also my experience that as soon as you find a juice that you really really love (even if it is only one juice to start with) then things will again become easier. I now have around 8-10 juices that make me think, god why would I ever want a cigarette again. It's a great place to be.

Its extremely contagious and I have just received 23 flavour concentrates with another 16 in the post.


Anyways, back to you lol.
I have some Joose-Juice that are 18mg I think (bought just before i lowered my nic. Most of them are unopened and you are more than welcome to them, because don't forget your self mixes will need to steep for a couple of weeks. They are mainly fruits (I know one is Apple) and sweet mixes. They will at least give you something to vape in the meantime.

You can buy cheap but very good ready mixed juice from www.joosejuice.co.uk only £1.49 per 10ml.

Perhaps get some flavours from there while you experiment with mixing. Plenty of time. Good luck

Mixing is definitely the way to go, finding your all day vape is the hard part I think.

amygx cool, it says very strong use with caution, start at 1% so a little will go a very long way and you certainly will not loose much strength from the 24mg nic base so could dilute the base down a bit to get to 18mg

As mentioned above, please don't hesitate to ask any questions you may have, no matter how stupid you think they are. We have all been where you are now, and would have welcomed the chance to ask about our new hobby (oops, perhaps I shouldn't have said that!) and receive sound advice from people with a lot more experience.
This forum has no pretensions - some of us enjoy using top end Rebuildable atomisers (where we build the new coils and wicks ourselves), but equally some of us are quite satisfied with 'off-the-shelf' atomisers like yours. If it gets you off the cigarettes, that's the most important thing.
Asking a question which has been answered before is no big deal; you will receive a prompt and courteous reply with the chance to ask for clarification if required. Be prepared for the forum humour though! - it can be sarcastic, caustic or just downright naughty (fiddles!)
If you are happy with 18mg flavour, have a go using the calculator on the top menu on this and every page ('Mix Calc') - if you go wrong, then close the page and start again! I suggest you add your Nic Base and flavour percentage first, and by specifying the PG/VG percentage, remembering that your nic base is PG base already, you should be able to find out how much VG to add which will give you a bit more vapour.

amygx, as daveyboy37 says, think about upping your nic level to 22/24mg in the short term.

I struggled with cravings for the 1st week until I upped my nic to 24, that knocked it on the head instantly.
Stayed on 24mg for a couple of weeks and then back to 18mg with no troubles whatsoever.
About 3 months ago I dropped to 12mg by accident when I used my sons juice for a week and I didn't notice
