Just ordered a SvoeMesto Kayfun v3.1 ES Styled Rebuildable Atomizer (4.5mL) and a few mini protanks from Fasttech, so the question is which mod do I go for? Been down this route before and ended up buying 2 itaste vv v3 batteries which are my out and about vaping preference but now think I'm ready for a proper mod, want something fairly small and will probably buy the mod from this country and will need batteries and a charger but having never actually seen a proper mod I have no idea of the actual size of the things.
Recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

Nemesis clone from mods and atties or vape geek amongst other places would be my recommendation. Cheap as chips, quality, can be configured for any battery size and a kick if you wish. There's a couple of minor niggles with them in some configurations and the switch can be a bit sticky but both tese issues can be easily fixed for a few quid should they bother you.

A mech mod will look great with the kayfun. Nemesis is a great shout. To give you an idea of how it would look on a mech mod. Below is my kayfun lite plus clone on a nzonic v5 clone. Sent from my Galaxy Note 2

Thanks Roscopecotrain Greg gordy180, thats exactly the problem, looovvve the look of the nemesis but how do mech mods work - not a clue, how do they compare to a vv vw device like a vamo or svd? or is the solution to get both!

smarties - a mech mod is as simple as it gets - it's just a tube with a button that hooks your battery to your atty. press the button, the coil heats up. The voltage is dependant on the charge left in the battery, and it's this that you need to be careful with. If you are used to vw devices, I'd recommend getting a kick - this is basically a small circuit board that sits in the tube and turns a mech into a vw device. As a start, you could order the one on FT as it's only a fiver and does the job fine up to 12w. Add this to the FT nemesis and you will have a great starter mech kit, which you can try with or without the kick. It'll go great with the kayfun. I have two and love them.

Mech mods just connect the battery to your atty, so you have no protection for the battery over discharging, short-circuits in your atty, overheating and no time limit to how long the power is connected (if button was pressed accidental in your bag etc). They have no adjustment for volts or watts, you can get a Kick for most mechs (not all check first) that this can be adjusted. Normally used with rebuildables so by tuning the resistance of your coil you can tune your vape.
Whatever you choose don't skimp on the charger or batteries.
I will find a video link and post soon.

Like your itaste, a vamo or svd will hold the same volts/watts as long as there is sufficient power in the battery to do so. A mech mod won't - the power will reduce as the battery runs down. Like your itaste, a vamo or svd will cut out if it doesn't like what you are doing - if you are drawing too much power from the battery, the resistance is too low, if the draw is too long or whatever. A mech mod won't - it will happily blow your atty or your battery if you get it wrong. So you can get more power out of a mech mod, but you have to know what you are doing. You need to be particularly careful about the batteries you use. zvaper is probably the best guy for videos about mech mods. Mech mods are frequently much prettier than electronic ones, and can be cheaper. There may be some that are both. You don't need a vamo or svd as well as a mech mod, particularly as you have the itaste to tell you the resistance of your coil.

Torchy only sells good chargers, so any of his. Batteries: 18350: AW are the best £££, eFest seem to be the only other make that do decent IMRs, but 18650 will be better vape and value. 18650: General use: Panasonic CGR18650CH 10 Amp (apolloecigs.co.uk code ECR69 gets 25% off), AW 2000 mah Sub ohming: Sony US 18650 VTC4 30A 2100 mAh £16 a pair (I have bought from this guy twice Ecoluxshop and he is trustworthy), AW 1600 mah There are other good batteries, but those ones above I have conference in. Be careful if you go for AW as apparently there are a lot of fakes I'm sure that some users here can point to legit stockers. eFests are not bad they are quite good, but I have 9 18350s from 3 different batches and each batch has different capacity and voltage drop under load.

Thanks fagin, thinking of starting off with a couple of 18350 and 18650 batteries, does that sound about right and do you have any idea if the nemesis takes button or flat top?
