Some people clean and dry burn, I don't bother just top up with a similar flavoured liquid. Certain liquids such as menthol, strong aniseed, strong fruity aromatics such as parma violets or concentrated berries, and strong savoury flavours like Marmite or black truffle (yes they do exist!) taint the clearo so how ever many different juices or wash cycles you do it will always taste of that flavour.
A burnt taste in in a protank or similar generally means you need to change the coil - the sweeter and darker the juice the more often you will need to change coils, juices that contain tobacco extracts or mango seem to be the worst culprits. A burnt taste in an iclear16, ce4 or similar generally means the wicks are too dry and you need to twirl or 'swosh' the ecig around a bit to ensure that the juice reaches all the wicks. Or if using a variable voltage battery a burnt taste can simply mean you've got the voltage turned up too high.
Pretty spot on about the batteries, probably better not to use a 1.5 or lower ohm coil on any battery less than 900mah as it could damage the battery

Thanks for the reply , I haven't messed with coils at the moment as I have only got these I suppose now we have talked about tanks got cheap generic ones made for ce4 off eBay , the cool thing I will have to have a look into when I start getting a fancy tank . Can you explain the cleaning process with the dry burning ? I'm not sure these ones I have pull apart so maybe they all just need either topping with the same flavour and throwing possibly ? I did link the tanks we have a few pages back . My last question while I'm thinking is you can buy small sample bottles linked above but it seems weird to fill a whole tank with such a tiny amount ? How can I sample them without using a clean fresh tank ?

I don't do the dry burning thing and as little cleaning as possible law . . . at most I might shove something in a denture tablet/bicarbonate of soda solution, if I'm feeling energetic. A lot of our stuff is disposable, not designed to last until the Zombie Apocalypse and reasonably inexpensive to replace, especially if you get the type that have replaceable coils. Which I'm afraid the Ebay ones aren't, use/enjoy and bin - then buy something better would be my advice. There are such things available as dripping atomizers for testing out flavours, you might find this thread helpful: allaboute-cigarettes.proboards.com/thread/34383/dripping-best?page=1&scrollTo=604521

These are good for testing flavours read the instructions carefully and make sure you buy a drip tip as normal drip tips/mouth pieces won't fit (If you buy 3 you get a free drip tip). These can be cleaned by soaking them in warm water mixed with sodium bicarbonate then rinsed and left to dry on a paper towel over night. I'll leave the cleaning of tanks/clearos and dry burning to someone who actually does it!

Thanks guys I really appreciate your help have looked at all the tanks you have suggested and I like the look of them . Abit confused at the mini protank as I saw about two different ones and a few other pro tank types on myepack can someone link me one that can work with my 900 EGo ce4 type battery ? I don't mind cool changing , I just meant if I wanted to wash the tank out and add a diff flavour . Worried that I will have to buy a ton of tanks . I'm trying a lemon cheesecake one at the moment . Omg I could actually eat my ecig right now !

Is that as it could ruin the battery with the ones that are with it ? Would it be safe to use the ones with it then change when needed ? Also how do you fill those ? Mine the mouth piece pops out and I turn it to 45 degrees and fill

The iClears fill in the way you've just described, the Protanks fill from the bottom. Hold upside down unscrew the bottom and fill while aviding the centre post Buy one of each and see which you prefer

Not to confuse you any more .........But, you may want to consider trying an Evod clearomiser to see want you think myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/evod-726.htmlI personally think they produce a far better Vape than the iclear16. But whatever you get you are on to a winner. www.joosejuice.co.uk are great only £1.49 per 10ml, may I suggest trying some bubblegum mixed with a touch of menthol, weird but MEGA Good luck

Hiya Law, welcome to AAEC, youre in safe hands, well done on almost a week fag free congrats The gear you have is working OK for you, its just easier with better gear as makes for a more pleasant vape and less hassle. My 2 friends vape with the throwaway ce4s and a basic 650 battery and get by fine I did a week on a 650 battery and ce4 tank, and upgraded after joining forum and reading up and learning about the choices available. I still have my 650 basic battery which I use for flavour testing so its not a waste at all! 1st thing I bought was the itaste vv because I can vape through ( in other words, plug mini usb in bottom and carry on vaping as it charged) I got by fine with one and my basic battery for spare. The itaste vv is variable voltage and wattage, all that means is I can move the power up and down to find the best taste for a specific juice, so I get a nicer vape, and it has a 'puff counter' so I know how much I've used it and it tells me the ohms of my tank ( not that I've ever understood ohms ???) I paid £30 for my itaste vv starter kit and it comes with 5 iclear16 tanks (thats £15 worth) so it makes the battery cost £15 which I thought was a bargain. Even though I now have lots of gear and batteries, I use my itaste vvs (yes I now have two ) as my everyday out and about vaping gear and probably always will as it fits nicely in my handbag and because its an 800mAH battery it last me ages,. I just have a small emergency power pack in my handbag which is mini usb so can charge my kindle, samsung phone and my itaste vv electric cigarette I find the iclear16s really simple to use, I have 3 on the go with different flavours in and just swap flavours throughout the day. I dont often clean them but cotton buds are handy for wiping and pushing down the mouthpiece if I get any gurgling and wipe over the threads so as long as you do general casual maintenance they last yonks! I would guess 6 weeks at least? Some members who only use menthol flavour have had 5 months from one My friend whose stayed on the ce4s has to throw hers away weekly - 2 weeks max as she gets a burnt taste. Last time my tanks tasted burnt I disassembled it, followed a youtube video, washed it under hot tap, did a dry burn and it fixed the taste and it was as good as new again So an iclear16 which costs me £3 can last 2 months, very good value! and a replacement coil (the middle post) costs under £2 I recon if you were watching your pennies you would get by fine with an itaste vv (with its 5 iclear16s) your original 650 battery as a spare whilst charging itaste and the only addition I might suggest is a glass tank for some of the tank cracking juices? You probably wouldnt go wrong buying the myepack mini protank2 kit thats only £19.99 as its another battery, a glass tank (bottom coil so you get a different type of vape - cooler) AND 5 replacement coils. I've linked both of those to myepack, because its a UK company that I know delivers fast and is generally the cheapest site - after I spend hours scouring the net I come back to it and find its the cheapest! Anyways, good luck with your shopping decisions and I'm sure you'll end up amassing tons of shiny stuff...I have! its great fun......I just see it as money I saved as a new non smoker - its all spent on new vape stuff now! ..it'll level off one day? ??? but its not too hard to be sensible and buy on a sensible budget

Some great advice above, I won't confuse you more by adding my twopennyworth! Washing and dry burning tanks/ clearos is nowhere as difficult as it sounds - try it and you'll wonder what all the fuss is all about Keep asking, we're always happy to help!

Hi law and to aae-c! You've found the right place for loads of great advice and there's no such thing as a silly question here. It takes time to get to grips with all of it, but take your time and keep asking questions when you're stuck. We were all beginners at some point and still learning as we go along.
