hello there,
As a newbie to vaping i have been doing my research and have come up with a shopping list for my first set up and i was hoping you nice people could give me a little feedback. Firstly i currently smoke rollies (~50 grams a week atm) and a pipe with a few cigars thrown in here and there, about 18 months or so i cut out the rollies and just smoked the pipe(which does get you some strange looks when your 30) with mini cigars when out and about. Then i changed jobs and the rollies crept back in also its worth noting that i am a idle hands smoker so i tend to smoke more in the evenings, days off, before and after work etc. i cut down by smoking the pipe during the days off and evenings instead of the pipe smoking being a once or twice a week thing that it started as.
As my boss and a few others i work with vape (mainly with cheapy cig-a-likes or ones bought from stalls that seem break and need new bits every other week) my works is vape friendly and allows vape breaks the same as smoke breaks. As i see them go back on and off the cigs as they break or run out of charge i figured i would jump in with a good set-up and so instead of the new briar pipe i was gonna get i would get myself set up for vaping.
anyway heres the list as it stands currently-all from myepack site
fast ego usb charger EVOD Starter Kit Stainless Steel Kanger Evod battery 1000 mah
along with their 'king of cigars' and 'cubano' juices.
I figured that should get me started. the extra battery is because i can end up working long shifts or end up going some else from work so a longer battery with one of the others as spare would come in handy as would having a spare charge i can stick in my bag. so how'd i do? any other suggestions or tip?
Thanks

HI blink and First off, myepack is a good vender to deal with, have not used them myself yet, but plenty on here have. and the VTR on their site keeps calling my name. So my order with them is just around the corner The evod batteries are good, i have two of them on the go myself May be worth your while haveing a look at the mini kanger protanks on their site, as i feel they are a very good product for new and experienced vapers. And then we get to the juice. this i find to be the hardest part of vapeing. Finding a juice you like, and this part can take a little bit of your funds. Nothing worse than buying 10ml samples and not likeing the juice. This is where this site comes in handy...... smokerainbow They do small 1ml samples for about 60p tobaccos, menthols, fruits, deserts, the list goes on and on. a 1ml sample is enough to know if you like the juice or not. is a good site. And is a shame the pipe smokers are dying out? But you can get vapeing pipes. Good Luck on whatever you choose.......Rick

The Evod kit is definitely a good starter kit, and usually it would be top of the list of suggestions, but a couple of things you say make me think you might be best of going in a slightly different direction from the start: Because of this, why not consider an MVP2 from myepack? It's a more expensive initial purchase, but the battery life is enormous and would save you worrying about running out of battery. It's not to everyone's taste, but as a former pipe smoker the extra size is unlikely to bother you as much as someone who has always smoked from a 20 deck. The evod is a good clearomizer, but needs a new coil on a regular basis - every week at least, and for me it was every three days or so as I found the Kanger coils had mixed consistency (just my experience, many have had a better one). If this will bother you, I'd suggest something from the iclear range - specifically the iclear 30, iclear 30S or iclear 16 dual coil clearo. The coils last much much longer (a month or more), and the vape quality is at least as good if not better. They are quite thirsty, and you may find you get a fair bit of juice with them, just to make sure you have all the facts! The MVP comes with one iclear30, so you would only need an extra one or two from the above list (plus spare coils which should last a long while). These suggestions would increase your initial outlay by quite a way, but hopefully future-proof your purchases, saving you money in the long run. Of course, if you have nagging doubts that vaping may not be for you, you'd be better of purchasing a cheaper kit, but the fact that you are already planning to get extra batteries suggest that you are ready to commit to it long term. All of the above are available at good prices on myepack. Juice is completely subjective, whatever kit you get, so be prepared to try a few and get some wrong as well as some right! I should stress that the evod kit is great, and you are unlikely to be disappointed with it, but my initial thought was that maybe you would be better with something a little different than the normal recommendations. Sorry for the long post!

blinkI think that's a great start. Personally I like evods. I think we will have you making your own coils for them before long (it is pretty easy, they work better, and of course it is cheaper), so I wouldn't worry too much about the life of the heads. There's a USB charger in the kit, don't know if you'll need another. If you have a kindle or iphone or similar, it is better to plug it into the plug that came with that rather than into the USB port on your computer. Like richvapers says, it's finding the juice that matters most. Do try a variety. You can think about fancy batteries later. You won't regret still owning the evod batteries - they are always useful for sticking in your pocket when you don't want to take the bigger stuff out. The most important tips are not to do with the equipment - they are "drink plenty of water" and "the best way to drag on an e-cig isn't the same as on a cigarette". If you've done your research you probably know these things, but do ask anything at all.

thanks for all the quick replies and the warm welcome.
ionian buying an mvp v2.0 and a extra clearo was something i did think of along with a smaller battery so that i have a back up as well as a smaller one for when i need it. however i thought it might be overkill for an initial set up.

Hi blink and a very warm If you are determined to make a go of vaping, I'd agree with the MVP suggestion. You are more likely to succeed with decent kit (and spending a few bob more is likely to be an even further incentive to make a go of it). If you are baulking at spending quite that much quite so soon, have a look at a twist or spinner - both VV devices that make good out and abouters once you upgrade to something a bit bigger

I'm not sure it would be overkill - it's likely to satisfy you for a lot longer than an ego battery. A back-up battery would be advisable, but you'd be better of getting a Cheap blister pack from elsewhere that has a charger included. This isn't a decision you can get wrong - the evod kit is a great starter kit - I just wanted to present you with another option to consider

Greetings and blinkGreat start as has been mentioned. Just a thought, if you are sticking with the Evod atty, I would suggest that you consider adding some spare heads to your list myepack.co.uk/accessories.html?p=2 (Keep the spent ones so you can reuse as and when you take up recoiling.) A word to the wise about juice, after a while you will find your tastes change as your tastebuds cleanse themselves of all the crud. As an ex pipeman myself, I do still favour baccy based juice, but have a selection of others to ring the changes. (I wonder if you would have only used one baccy in your pipe / rollups?) Currently good offer on here for your juice. www.darkstarvapour.co.uk/ On a non equipment note, as mentioned you will need to keep up your fluid intake and treat your new gear as a vaping tool and not a fag.. Finally, if you have any questions at all there is always someone on here to help out. Above all be patient and stick with it Enjoy

Hi blink and to aaec. Don't worry about overkill. Most of us have at least a few batteries...and some have even more than that. You'll do well to restrain yourself once you get going. icon_shoppingm
