Hi Everyone Newbie here! The name's Andy, and I've just this minute joined up. Long term smoker (40 odd years), and I'm just trying this Electronic Cigarette lark. Currently have an e-cig Wizard, and also an e-Lites thing. The jury's still out on which one I prefer. What do you guys use? What do we think of the recent press coverage about the health hazards? Media hype? Government scaremongering? Reality?

Hi windymiller, I advise a wander through the forum posts to answer your questions - the variety of gear, information and knowledge is quite astonishing.

Currently have an e-cig Wizard, and also an e-Lites thing. The jury's still out on which one I prefer. Welcome to AAEC. E-Lites? criminally over-priced, not enough ooomph, nowhere near enough nicotine. What have you got from ecigwizard that is not infinity times better?

windymiller you lot are probly talking a differnt language to him talking about mods and all that lol first thing we should ask if do you like the e lites and stuff like that but if you dont think they have enough punch you should try something abit bigger like a vison spinner and inlkin i16 atty and then try the flvors you think you would like and go from there

Thanks for the warm welcome peeps!
I'm not surprised that I got flamed for the e-Lite, as I had a feeling that it's not 'professional' or 'hardcore' enough. In answer to djs's (edited!) post, the only thing that I get from the e-Lite is consistency. The Wizard started to get a dreadful burnt taste so I changed the top burner thing (please excuse the incorrect terminology!) thinking it was due to be swapped out. The new one was just as bad.
Worrying that I'd go back to stinkies, I popped to WHSmith next to where I work to see what they had to offer, hence the e-Lite. Indeed there was far less oomph, but there was also far less burnt taste. Figuring that this was miles better than going out and getting 'proper' fags I stuck with it for a few days. Now at this stage, I have to admit that at the time I was starting to get a nasty cold and bad throat, so I'm happy to concede that this may have been a major factor in the nasty taste.
I certainly get more oomph from the Wizard, but I still get a strange taste. Although I still have a cold...
I'll check out the links that you all suggested and see what it's all about.

Hello & welcome to the forum & vaping, windymiller. It doesn't matter what you start out on, it's the fact that you have made the move to vaping. Most folk, if they get on OK with cig-a-likes, then do go on the look out for something more. With a move up, it gets more satisfying, with better flavour, vapour & the batts are longer lasting. So have a read, ask away & enjoy your vaping, whatever you choose to use.
