Hello. I just joined recently and after reading reviews, got myself a kit from Jacvapour. I had given up cigarettes for 18 months but needed something due to stress and the E cig fits the bill. Problem is, I am using it all day all the time and am slightly worried about how much nicotine I may be taking in. I got the one with 12 mg carts and I got some VG juice at the same time. It doesn't seem to make any difference how much I vape, I never get satisfied (not as I did with a cigarette). Plus, I seem to have been on the loo more and a few more headaches. Is this too much nicotine intake? If so, how do you guys manage to get it down. I was wondering if a higher mg of nicotine would be better or maybe going to a really low one. How many cigarettes is one cart equivalent to? I seem to be getting through a cart a day. Thanks for any help. Christine

I'm not experienced with the Jacvapour so I don't know how much liquid you are getting through in a day, I doubt it holds much in a cartridge. Most people get up to using about 2ml a day quite quickly. you will tend to use more on lower nicotine levels and less on higher. I like to puff away constantly, I was a chain smoker, so I chose to lower the strength to allow me to do that. I now use 6-10ml per day though. You may be getting a little dehydrated and it advisable to up your fluid intake.

I wouldn't worry about how much nic you are getting. 12mg is fairly low, and that is probably the reason that you don't get the satisfaction. For a pack a day smoker for instance, 18mg is more usual. VG gives you less throat hot than PG juices. The headaches & the loo are probably both the result of increased nic intake. The headaches will go away if you drink lots of water. The loo thing should settle down. I'm not that familiar with JAC, but one commercial pre-filled cart tends to last less than a day for pack/day smokers. You can do better and cheaper than JAC with something more cigar-sized. Something like this for instance. You would also need juice. I'd get 18mg, and a PG/VG mix. It is worth trying different flavours - most of us move off tobacco flavours. I don't know what Myepack juices are like - someone will be along to advise, if they haven't already.

cmoc It has been proven in recent studies that the nicotine levels obtained by Vaping is significantly lower than a tobacco cigarette. In studies it has been determined that a "Standard" tobacco cigarette contains about 18mg of nicotine consumed over 25 puffs. This study ectaofcanada.com/pubs/nicyieldstudy.php done by the Electronic Cigarette Trade Association of Canada shows the Nicotine Yield from Electronic cigarettes per 25 puffs is in the order of 3.5 to 5.3 mg of nicotine using 36mg juice! so less than a third of nicotine vs a tobacco cigarette . My opinion is that if you're constantly puffing on a e-cig then the nicotine strength of the liquid you use needs to be higher, also if you're constantly puffing you will be dehydrating, a common symptom of dehydration is headaches. Also consider why the Cig-a-likes that are being sold by Big Tobacco are typically 36 - 45mg nicotine strength (Vype), it's because they have found to get the same nicotine "hit" from an E-cig you need this nicotine strength. My recommendation then would be to try some 24mg cartridges maybe after a while you could try 18mg and over time maybe drop this further, keep drinking plenty of water whilst you vape.

Hi Christine Did you get the cig-a-like kit? ie the one that is the same or very similar in size and looks to a cigarette? If so, you will never get the same satisfaction from one of those as you did with a cigarette. I started with Skycigs and was getting through at least 2 of the cartos every day whilst still not having cut out the ciggies completely. Once I switched to an ego type kit, like this or this it was a different story. I stopped the ciggies instantly. The difference between them is like night and day. I know many people are put off by the larger size of these kits, but you get used to them very quickly Headaches are likely to be because you have been off the nicotine for a good long time and then started again.

Can't add much more to the great advice you've already received above, get yourself one of the kits recommended and you'll never look back. 18mg juice to start with, after a couple of months you will probably be able to reduce your nic once you are controlling the cravings. I've never used a Jacvapour kit, but have read too many times to mention here that everyone who upgraded is really glad they did

hiya cmoc, like lairey I used 2 carts a day and still wanted a cigarette the whole time Once I moved to a starter kit of 650 battery and ce4 tank I stopped having cravings and managed 2mls of eliquid a day ( thats a tank and a half) and when a bottle of 10ml eliquid cost me £1.50 it dropped my costs down to under £3 per week. If you want to quit smoking with the kit you have, expect to need more than one cart a day and keep up your water intake, I know they say one cart equals a pack of 20 ciggies but I'm afraid thats tommyrot! I found it hard work on 2 carts and permanent hammering them all day

Thanks for all the information. Great forum this! Yes, I have the cig look alike kit (fool me), I should have gone for one of the others mentioned. Wont be long before I upgrade. In the meantime, I will get some stronger nicotine carts (as mentioned) and see if that works. One more question, has anyone any idea why I get liquid in my mouth sometimes with the prefilled carts? Thanks Christine

you occasionally get that with most systems cmoc, try not to do a deep hard suck in (like you do with ciggies) you need to get the coil hot to vapourise eliquid, so long and slow!

Thanks Christine Probably because you are sucking too hard on them Christine. Basically you are pulling the vapour through quicker than it can be vapourised on the coil, so it's coming through as liquid. Long slow draws is the key If you are in a position to be able to, I'd recommend getting a new kit now and keeping the current one for emergencies. It really will make the world of difference to you

Good advice above. I found that the dry mouth/throat from vaping lasted a few months but eventually I got used to it and I don't have to drink all the time like I did at the start.

I'm pretty new to vaping myself, so could be all wrong here, but it's just a suggestion... I'm assuming that you were off the nicotine for eighteen months? In which case I'd be surprised if the problem is not enough nicotine because your body will have had plenty of time to get used to not taking it in (unless you were using another form of replacing it before turning to e-cigs). Perhaps the lack of satisfaction is down to the throat hit (not an expert but keep hearing about this)? Have you tried different mixes of VG and PG to see if one gives you a better satisfaction level? Maybe it's not enough vapour rather than nic level...?
Oh and I agree with the stuff about the dehydration. I've definitely noticed I need to drink more since taking up vaping but keep hearing that's normal and nothing to worry about.

Propylene Glycol likes to absorb water apparently so has a drying/dehydrating effect. When I started I was drinking water like it's going out of fashion

I started on the JacVapour ecigs, using the PG carts @ 18mg strength. This was enough to get me of the pack of ciggies a day I was on. I soon learned that the trick was to take long slow pulls - I got the feeling that my lungs were filling with vapour and started to get a good throat hit. I have since moved onto an MVPv2, SVD and latterly a Nemesis clone. I still use my jac for when I want a super stealth hit - kept me going on a 24-hour flight to the Cook Islands in the Summer
