Hi all,
A little about me. I am 32 and didn't start smoking until I was 24 (must be mad!) I have given up quite a few times since then, when having each of my 2 children, then a few more times using patches lasting a few months.
Patches do work for me for the cravings and moodiness but I confess to simply enjoying a cigarette! Socially and also to have 5 minutes to myself from my 2 children.
I convince myself it's not so bad, I don't smoke around the children or in the house in fact they don't even know but the fact still remains that I need to take responsibility for secondhand smoke and the fact that by harming myself I am harming them in the long term.
I smoke superking menthols and probably about 10 a day. I simply don't have a clue where to start with e-cigs and am hopeful someone could point me in the right direction. There are so many companies out there it's a bit intimidating! I want a good quality product that is simple, cost effective and does the job please.
Many thanks for reading!

You do know where to start that is why you have found AAEC i won't purport to be able to give good advice! too rookie at the moment. what I can tell you is you are looking for three things, a good battery, a good 'system' (someone tell me the correct name please) and a good tank. there are loads of really cheap decent systems to get you off the dirty ones though, really doesn't have to cost he earth, and compared to stickies, anything will be cheap over time

Hi and to AAEC smithyjules I would recommend THIS as a great value starter kit along with one of THESE as you are a menthol smoker.

Hi smithyjules and a very warm to the forum. Have a good read through this thread it will help you to understand all of the differnt options and terminology/abbreviations. you could do a lot worse than one of these and some juice. I'd suggest starting on 18mg juice. A good place to get juice is JooseJuice where you can get 10ml bottles for £1.49. They are all made to order so most will need to be put aside in a cool dark place for a couple of weeks to "steep" but if you go for and of their mint/menthol flavours, they will be good to go as soon as you get them. have a good look round the forum and don't hesitate to ask any questions, we are a friendly, helpful bunch

Hi and smithyjules. Myepack is a great place to get you started and their delivery is super quick. They don't do discounts because their prices are already very low, but check out the vendor board for discount codes before placing orders anywhere else.

Thank you for the replies so far! How do you chose what strength to buy please? And how to tell how long they will last? Is there something simple like 10mls is the equivalent of x number of sufferings? Think I'm asking a bit much lol

You'll never ask too much! - Our #1 Rule is no question is stupid! My recommendation as you are a light smoker would be to start at 18mg (this will actually give you he same nicotine per puff at around a THIRD or 33%) of a tobacco cigarette. But as Vaping is different you'll probably find this is enough. You could also get some 12mg that you could switch to if you found 18mg was too high. Nothing will go to waste you could always sell/swap what you don't use later.

Almost forgot. If you decide to buy from joosejuice, stick to smaller bottles until you know what you like. Yes the larger bottles are better value, but there's no value in buying 30ml of something you discover you don't like. That goes for any juice vendor. Always try the samples first if possible. Smoke Rainbow is a good place to go for 1ml samples of many premium juices for about 60p each. Takes about a week for delivery but they're ready to use from the minute they land through your letterbox.

You're quite a light smoker Jules . . . so I'd start at 18mg as Lairey suggests. Depends how much you vape as to how long your eliquid will last, but I'd be inclined to get at least 20-30ml in some different Menthol flavours as they can vary in taste and your enjoyment. And perhaps a lower strength within that selection as well, to give you some choice.

Welcome to AAEC smithyjulesAs others have recommended decent start up kits I wont add to them it will just confuse you more. As for the nic level, one good thing about vaping is you can adjust the level to suit you. Buy a couple of samples at 18mg and a couple at 12mg. Alot of people vape different levels throughout the day depending on their situation, most people also vape a few different flavours a day as well to help stop the taste buds getting too used to a flavour. What ever kit you decide to get good luck and remember to count the cigs you don't have not the ones you do have. Took me 3 weeks to stop smoking completely and now been smoke free for almost a year (except for one slip up in May).
