I just wish we could have worked out for Trying what was killing all her batteries? She sent the original atties back with the first kit, so it can't have been due to a rogue attie?

It's hard to tell, Chrissie. I hope she didn't end up with a batch of defective batteries, that would discourage anyone who is starting out on e-cigs.

I can't see that was the case Jerry as 2 slightly different types of Riva batteries where sent to Trying, according to the PM she sent me. The first ones had the chrome/ss band along with matching atties (Trying returned these) . The replacement kit had the gold coloured band, also with matching atties.

Oooooo, please don't be put off Trying, you've just been so very unlucky. My first attempt at vaping, fell flat for a lack of supplies . . . took me me months to wind up to having another go . . . how I regret those wasted months now.

Awww such a shame you have had a bad experience such as this. However, as others have said, don't be put off. It's certainly worth perservering with vaping.
Maybe look at a different e-cig & even trying a dual coil cartomiser. Cartomisers are much more simpler than atties to be honest. Less faff on for a start.

Trying, hi there please don't be put off just yet! I don't know if this helps but recently I too had terrible luck with stuff (atomisers) in different colours just dying on me, not sure if all the same batch from the supplier but totally off putting nonetheless. I guess sometimes it's just like that.

Hi trying I have terrible luck with atomizers I've only gotta look at one and it breaks. I have however had much more luck with cartomizers. Please don't give in just yet, it took me a few weeks to get the hang of things. We've some excellent suppliers on here who I know would be more than happy to help you both Jason (vapeescape) and Kevin(freedomvapes) have been superstars and I can't recommend them highly enough! Good luck Nats x

Had a thought about the batteries...sometimes the light on the button starts to flash when you've held the button in for too long.

Trying - don't give up.
Just get a couple of egoT batteries and chargers and a box of CE3 smokymizers from one of the suppliers on this forum.
I've bought 'stuff' off Kev at FreedomVape and Jason at VapeEscape and I can't recommend these guys highly enough.
Ask them to pre-test the CE3s - and you just can't go wrong.

Right, I'm ready to try again.
Thanks everyone for your encouragement. Got a refund and have bought a new kit elsewhere and so far so good.
The only thing is that I am gasping for an analogue and my lips are glued to the e-cig. I have to keep brushing my teeth as my mouth tastes foul! I've got so many bottles of juices and filled up carts that I keep trying and now I don't know which one is which and to be honest I cannot rave about any of them as they all seem to taste the same - maybe I really have lost my taste buds!!
Now I have ordered a higher strenth (22-28mg) as I

Hi trying, Glad you didn't give up and are still 'trying' Re your tastebuds, chances are that yes they'll have been damaged by smoking, but if you manage to stick with vaping they'll recover over time (amount of time varies from person to person). On the nic strength thing, I think you've done the right thing in moving to a stronger mix. It should help make the swap over from cigs to vapes easier. You can always move to a weaker mix later once you're comfortable vaping. For me, I think of swapping to vaping as a 2 stage process: Stage 1. Drop the cigs and swap to vaping (at whatever nic strength is comfortable). Stage 2 (optional). Reduce nic strength gradually if you want to. Also, don't think that you have to give up real tabs completely, just try to minimise thier use. Count the ones that you don't have rather than the ones that you do. Not everyone can just drop the tabs immediately, for some it's a gradual process. BTW, there's good info on nic strengths etc here: www.e-cigarette-forum.com/index.php/beginner-ecigarette-tutorial-2.htmlGood luck with making the swap, and I hope you stick with it, John P.S. I use 24mg nic juice, and right now have no intention of reducing the strength. My reason for taking up vaping was to stop smoking tobacco, not to stop getting my nicotine hit

Hi trying: Glad you've finally found something that actually works for you You're best starting off with the higher strength juices otherwise you will miss the nicotine hit you were getting from your cigarettes.. I generally stick to the 18 to 24mg but used to go as high as 38mg so it's whatever kills your craving best. You can wean yourself off whenever you want and there's no pressure or timeframe. I quite often find that my taste buds take a nosedive; not sure why. I just use a nondescript tobacco type flavour during these times but after a while I can taste my favourites once more. I keep a supply of several different flavours to suit my mood (and taste bud condition). Keep 'trying.' Fox

Hya, just been catching up on your thread, well done coming back taste buds can play games, I know the feeling of trying different flavours, mixing them up, I have carts that I dont have a clue what I put inside them, good luck, I prefer vaping to when I used to smoke

Hi trying In my experience, vaping is trial and error. When I started, over 3 years ago now, I bought 3 starter kits within just a few weeks of each other as they all packed up on me. I must have spent getting on for £100 as I bought bottles of juices as well. I gave up when the last kit ceased to work and started smoking again. I had scary health problems a couple of months ago and stopped smoking cold turkey for a while and that's when I decided to give vaping another go. *Touchwood*, I've had no problems (yet) this time and the hardest thing I'm having is deciding on a flavour I really like! I still haven't found the 'perfect' flavour and have a whole box full of juices, but my taste buds are still shot to pieces too. Every hurdle needs to be crossed until we get it right, but it does take time. Persevere, and eventually you'll get there!
