just a thought......its been a long time since i used a riva type pv is it the 5 press button type,it is switched on????? I didn't want to muddy Trying's already troubled waters River . . . but that's what I immediately thought. The 5 click batteries do flash in that manner . . . Trying, have you had a go at giving the activation button on your battery, 5 swift depresses . . . then using it? If you then break off vaping, you'll have to go through the 5 click activation/flashing button process. Hello & welcome btw.

Trying, can you give us the link to the Riva kit you bought? If you would prefer not to post it here, PM me with the link.
To PM me, just click on the 2nd little symbol under my avatar (pic)

Hi. Where did you purchase the kits from? I'm an avid fan of the Riva & it was my first e-cig. Never had any issues with the batteries, however, atties can be quite tempramental. First thing to do is (if you can) is send both kits back. As for charging the batteries: I would charge them as soon as they arrive. When you attach them to the charger & plug in, the button on the battery will flash a few times then the light on the charger will either stay red or switch to green. Once green, it indicates battery is charged. The button will flash again once it's out of charge, but as others have said, it's best not to let them run right down. Atties, as I've mentioned, can be tempramental. Some may not last as long as others, but the key is to not let them dry out. If your using a cart with filler, you must make sure the filler remains wet. Allowing the filler to become dry can seriously damage the attie & you will experience a horrible burnt taste. One tip is to watch youtube tutorials. These are much better than reading. Scott (igetcha69) vids are brilliant and easy to understand. Second tip is never be afraid to ask questions. We have all been there & it's the best way to get a great vaping experience. Also, it's baby steps; start with the basics & don't feel bamboozelled by all the different models & accessories. Oh just thought on...I personally wouldn't leave any battery charging overnight. In fact I never leave any battery charging when I'm out either. Good luck

Hi everyone - you really are a helpful, friendly bunch! thank you for all your suggestions They are not a 5 press button - they worked ok for 4 days before with 1 press. Noted, will keep a check on the fluid so it doesn't dry out. I have charged the remaining battery overnight and is working ok at the moment. Now do I wait for light to flash to charge it tonight and do I charge it for maximum 3 hours? p.s. I hate the x-factor but love big brother!!

I've never had an atomizer damage a battery and I've used many Riva/Tornado models = I don't use the low resistant type and have read that some people have had battery problems using this type. I understand that as they burn hotter than the standard ones, battery life will be reduced (on each charge).
As regards charging, you don't need to wait for the battery light to flash to top up the charge as they don't have a 'memory.'
All the 510 chargers I've had switch off (green light) when charging is complete so there's no benefit to leaving the battery connected.
One, very good, vendor I've used recently supplied me with a kit and one of the batteries was dud. He told me that he had been having problems with a particular batch and replaced the dodgy battery - I've had no problems since. I'm wondering if you really have been unlucky.

Thanks for the PM Trying Okey Dokey, Trying is right, the Riva she bought (from a good supplier, but not one that posts on All About) is not 5 click battery type, plus only standard atties where supplied with it, so problem not due to being used with an LR attie. Although it is very rare to get a dodgy attie that fries batteries, I do think this, as others have suggested, is most likely what has happened

Hi everyone Just an update - my last battery died this morning Had topped up the fluid and charged it up last night, vaping this morning but not getting much vapour and this when I was doing 2 drags and then the blue light started flashing so tried charging it again. Have spoken to the suppliers and they were very nice about it so have sent everything back and getting a refund. This whole experience has put me off vaping so going to leave it alone now but thanks everyone for your kind help

Trying,
Don't give up, i've been on / off vaping for 3 months now and when i started i had high hopes of coming off the ciggies without any problems, but i was wrong, i've had loads of niggly problems along the way.
In all honesty i'm still not entirely sure what i'm doing at times and i still can't find anything that is as good as my cigs, but i'm not going to give up.
Get yourself a new riva....maybe from Jason on here (vapeescape) he has been just fab with me (despite what i say about him on here), and i will be ya buddy and help you along the way...and maybe we can succeed together.

It takes time, Trying. Don't get discouraged, I vaped and smoked for two months, before I got vaping somewhat right. It's worth the effort, if it's going to get you off of the cancer sticks.
