Hi,
I have now been vaping for 6 months and I have noticed that my teeth have a slight yellow color to it.
I have a crown on my front teeth and it is now showing more white than the others. I had showed the same to my dentist and he was a little surprised as to how it is happening (He does not know anything regarding vaping though)
Have any of you noticed the same thing.
If any of you have than is there a workaround for it other than the bleaching done at the dentist
Cheers Shamreez

Hi Sham. Not happened to me, but then I've only been vaping for just over 2 weeks. When I smoked, my dentist who also smoked, gave me a tip. Before you clean your teeth with toothpaste, brush them with bicarbonate of soda, (the white powder used for baking) but don't brush it on to the gums, as it'll make them sore. Rinse well with water, dry your brush, then brush your teeth and gums with toothpaste as normal. I've been doing that for a couple of years now and it does make a difference. The bicarb doesn't harm teeth in any way, it has a mild scouring action. I asked my dentist if it damaged the enamel at all and she said no. You don't need much, just sprinkle it over the brush head. The difference is instant, when you run your tongue over your teeth, it feels like they've just been polished! Anne x

Have to say the first thing I done when I switched was teeth whitening off that Group voucher thingy for £39 and a full scale and polish and 9 months on do not have any noticeable staining apart from coffee and such.
I was gutted actually that they were not like Mr Cowells but most of the celebs get unnatural veneers as it is not actually possible to get white teeth the lightest shade is a creamish colour anyway, wish I knew and could have saved the dosh as they were only 2 shades off the lightest beforehand which is nowt really.
Second job was whitening the ceiling and it is so nice to know at least they are still pristine white.

I do precisely that - it really is good and is a lot cheaper than buying A&H. Fox

I'm in the Dentist every three months as it is Sham, trying to preserve the remaining teeth I've not lost to cigarettes . . . and have a clean & polish as a matter of course, so haven't really noticed any difference. You wouldn't be drinking more coffee/tea/red wine as a result of vaping would you?

No yellowing of the teeth here I use any general whitening toothpaste tho', so maybe that's helping.

Well the discolouration due to rollups was prettty bad , so I figure vaping can't be any worse than rollups. The point is what causes the 'yellowing' ? Is it the nicotine , if so then your statements would be consistent. Only been vaping 2 weeks as well - so I can't tell the impact yet - still need to get my teeth whitenened at dentist from the smoking !

nice tip fuzzy, Is bicarb soda the gritty stuff thats in tooth whitening toothpaste ? Sorry Jemima, only just got back to this thread. There's so many on this forum, I forget where I've posted what. Lol. Yes, it is and as it's food grade, not that I know what recipe it would go in! I'm guessing bread? It's much more effective to use it on it's own though. It's not expensive and it doesn't taste of much either, just a bit salty.
