Well done you for finding that bargain, but I need something that just sits heavily on a counter top, so when I swing by in my wheelchair I can just do it all with having to open cupboards and drawers. I also want something sexy and shiny in my kitchen but sadly George Clooney won't play ball

I've got an old dualit, similar to the one in Super-Shiny 's review, makes a decent coffee though you can only get expresso sized cups under it, and the frothy milky thing is pants! Oh and the black plastic bit the coffee comes out of has dropped off and is "no longer made" Recently I've been lusting after this- www.scanomat.co.uk/int/topbrewer/introductionAnd that's only £500 short of £10k.......that's the wedding off then LOL On reflection that could be a bargain, my wedding in 1995 recently cost me in excess of £150k..

Mine weighs a tonne (so heavy I had to get a cab for a 10 minute walk home with it) and I got that in the sale? LOL

No bean to cup but another vote for the Tassimo......love the range of coffees you can buy....Costa ( My fave ) Kenco, Carte Noire, Cafe Hag, Jacobs...( my second fave ) been addicted to it for a few months now....the range of Hot Chocolates are amazing too. The flavor in the right coffee beats bean to cup any day for me

I think that's your decision made Blownupdolly - you have to get a tassimo... Not quite the hunk slave you were wanting but still.... Now I'm off to search for the best price for you. When exactly do you move? are you allowed the pets?

cant be much help with bean to cup machines www.hasbean.co.uk/collections/starter-packs/products/the-new-espresso-starter-packworth a look for beans , roasted to order and the porlex grinders are good though tbh I have an electric metal bladed one that is 20 odd years old that I think is fine , which coffee purists would cringe at. machine I use is delongi icona.....fitted in nicely with new kitchen décor and I think the machine is great.. though those in "the know" would recommend the gaggia classic. can be an interesting topic to read up on and so many conflicting reviews etc good luck with search I couldn't agree more with the hasbean tip. I buy all of my beans from Steve, he sells top notch coffee and is a lovely bloke who really gives a toss about what he sells and making sure that his customers are happy. Alas I really can't help with the machine question, I'm too much of a coffee snob to use tassimo/nespresso or a bean to cup and mainly stick to filter/cafetiere coffee these days anyway.

Dolly its not often I share my recipes but since you are moving and as it can be quite costly I would like to share this one.
Open a tin of beans but leave in tin. Pour a small jar of nescafe into the bean tin. Fill pan with water and bring to boil. Place tin in pan and boil for another 15 minutes. Stir tin during process. Empty tin in to a culinder and then give it a good smash
Coffee beans ready to go as needed.
Saves £500
Your welcome.

I've had one of these for about 5 months. Paid £300 for it on Amazon. Very pleased with it and think it's better than the Gaggia bean to cup machines I've had in the past. Now to the maths :- Tassimo 29p per cup Bean to cup 9p per cup So 5 cups per day saves you £1. Deduct the price of a Tassimo from 250 and that's how many days later you are in profit Pretty certain this is the same machine my parent have, wjll check tomorrow, but if it is, i can highly recommend it, makes a lovely cup of coffee and pretty fast for a beans to cup. I have one of these and it's been a great machine, once you've set your strength and quantity of water it's just a case of pressing the button and it brews an espresso in about half a minute. If you want a cappuccino then you have to heat and froth your milk which is no mither but if you're in a wheelchair I'm not so sure. Then there's cleaning it out periodically, it helps to be able to get your head in close to see around the nooks and crannies to get the grounds out that didn't make it into the waste collector. It makes fab coffee though. Ive also got a Gaggia espresso machine, it's fully manual and again it makes a great coffee but I prefer bean to cup. In Cyprus I've got a tassimo and guess what? It makes great coffee! Easy to use and clean and there's a great range of pods to choose from. I have kittens when I buy two weeks supply before we go, but then I remember we got the machine for about £30 in some offer somewhere so it's not so bad. If it were me and I had trouble standing I think I'd get a pod machine, they're just hassle free and the drinks really are good, I don't think they sacrifice flavour at all. I tend to use instant as well as fresh, I was getting faaaar to much caffeine using the machine all day long!

When exactly do you move? are you allowed the pets? Not sure the date we move as we don't have the official viewing till Tuesday, but I am 99% certain we will be taking it as I have seen through the window what the decor is like! plus MrDolly was super sleuth last night and cam across the planning permission plans on the internet, which shows the layout of all properties. Sadly no pets can come, but my daughter is having the wee dog. I am trying to bring myself to advertise the cats, but I am sure they know what's going on and are being overly affectionate and cute, just to make it harder for me to do it.

I shall have to make sure he does it before we move because if he smothers my new kitchen in coffee sludge, he will be hung up by the ankles on the pergola outside!!

Now that's very interesting! I can't afford it this week, but I am sure there will be other refurbished ones around. I saw others just now on fleabay. This one is looking like the favourite between both of us as his nibs wants the bean to cup ability.
