Headhunter, why don't you ask VTTV if you can do a slot on the smaller ecigs. Could be really interesting to see the different options. They are asking for more presenters to come forward.

A very good example, I understand far better now, thanks Russell. And like you stated the modern disposables and mini-cigs are far better now than they were 2yrs ago, shame that most of the controlling influences on this board have not tried one in about the same length of time ! I personally think that they would be shocked by just how good the product has become, still there is a saying about 'dogs, trix and old', but I cannot for the life of me remember exactly how it goes.....lol But it still a shame that VT-TV will not be fighting for the Vapers that have PVs that resemble real smoking items (pipes, cigars and lookalikes) instead of just playing to ignorant peoples unjustified fears. SHAME Heady, the RN4081 that you have hasn't changed at all in the 3 years since it came out! Still the same low mAh battery & atomiser that doesn't give out much vapour. OK, VIP that you bought from sell the cartomisers for it at an extortianate price & lie about how long the cartos last - "50 x Tobacco Refills APPROX. 2000 CIGARETTES" - hence why we just can't recommend them them to newbies. Yes, Cam-vip, with the help of good honest vendors like Safercigs, are handing out e-cig look alikes to newbies. And as Rusty has pointed out, the main reason being that at a cost of about £2.00 a kit, they can afford to do so. But they are just meant to give folks a taster.

SHAME the controlling influences (as you call them) on this board arn't likely to recommend a disposable e-cig anyway. if someone took the time and effort to post a question then they most likely arnt looking for disposable but an experienced valued opinion. mini-cigs are fine and i have nothing against them but the standard seems to be edging towards a 510 connection so that is why the controling influences suggest a value, flexable, future proof, easy to use and convenient recommendation of the Ego/Riva... if size is an issue then a 510/titan. when and if they feel the need to upgrade or try something different then everything will be compatable. swapped out and mix and matched

SHAME Again... we at VTTV and I personally have examined as many of the current crop of disposables and looky-likeys as we can get our hands on. You will see a clip on VTTV called "no smoking in here sir" - we were doing a review on location in a venue we knew to be vaping-friendly, and as I took a toke on the looky-likey, the boss man told me "You can't smoke in here sir" - precisely because it looked so much like a consulate. Now, you need to understand that I have used my GGs and ProVaris and Darwins (as well as other big battery mods) in all kinds of places over the last two and a half years, and in all that time have only been approached by management and asked not to use them when they've been looky-likies. And that has been precisely twice out of maybe a couple of hundred different places. Yes, I understand that something that looks like a fag is attractive to the first-time user (because it looks like a fag - it's familiar), but you must also understand that landlords and business owners face huge fines if they allow the smoking of tobacco on their premises - and what that landlord from Hull said on the news item is very true - it's damned hard to tell whether a super mini is a real fag or not, if the battery is white, the carto brown and the end lights up red. It's not a matter of the landlord being ignorant - it's a matter of pissed-up punters sparking a real one up cos they think others already have. And as for the efficacy of a super-mini or even a good ol' 510 - I'm sorry, but even the very latest super-mini cannot hold a candle to an LR Mega DCC on an eGo or Tornado. And just as an aside - last night I was at one of the venues that had previously asked me not to use a looky-likey. I toked frenetically on both my GGTS/UFS and my Darwin all night - and not a moment's bother. Not only that, but three people approached me and asked what they were and where to get them, as their trial of a looky-likey had been less than stellar, and, more to the point, they thought that both my devices "looked way cooler than a fag". They were all well over 30, too... Go figure.

This discussion does seem to be getting a bit heated. It's starting to remind me of some of the political/religious debates in the "Outside" on ECF.

I don't think this is heated by any means. We need looky-likeys to get the smoker interested in the first place. If the smoker wants to not have any tobacco cigarettes at all, they will soon realise that the looky-likeys can be a bit of a pfaff and move on to something else that they then research more thoroughly. If on the other hand, they are just using ecigs to replace the cigs they cannot have for whatever reason, the looky-likeys work adequately enough. The final set of campers are those who want to cut down how much they smoke, or stop all together - the looky-likeys are fine for this purpose as well. When I first discovered ecigs, I thought that they would just be a better way of 'stopping' smoking than the NRT out there. They were inhalators with the missing 'smoke'. After using them for a while, I began to like them and threw the idea of stopping smoking in the bin along with my looky-likey. It is horses for courses but without the pit pony we call the looky-likey, no one would ever try and buy a thoroughbred Rusty

Haven't spied any flames yet, either!!
Rusty, while I agree with everything you say, the big problem with looky-likeys is that they're looky-likeys, and from the perspective of CAM VIP, there's an awful lot of landlords simply can't allow them to be used. That's not because they're e-cigs, but because it's all too easy to not notice that some plunker's sparked up a real one.
That's not the case with mods...
For me, the sooner there's no red LEDs anywhere on an e-cig, the better...

I used my Riva in a restaurant the other day, I wouldn't have dared use my Realis tbh. It looks way too real.

But I really liked them when I started. I wanted something as close looking to a real cig as possible.
If you give people the choice, I can guarantee that most will pick the red light.
