hi all, ive ben using the saddle since the 5th nov. the first 2 cartos lasted almost 3 days, then on the 10th i started another and it has just started to taste very slightly different. so time to change it now. ive noticed that this one has a bigger hole than the previous ones so im thinking this must be better for longer lasting cartos. the problem is im a little worried about doing to many turns with the saddle. i have 4 more with holes already made with the saddle but sometimes they crush slightly before popping the hole. so the saddle pin has to go what seems quite a way in before it makes the hole bigger. is there an easy way to use something like a nail with a shorter point to make the hole wider but without going in to deep. something to put in the hole and just move it left too right and up and down just to widen the hole as opposed to going deeper with the pin on the saddle risking damaging the insides of the carto. not sure im explaining this very well reading it back but hopefully you get what im asking. which in easy terms is what do you peeps use if you just want too widen the hole and not deepen it.
thanks.................
raggy..........

Raggy, just make your hole as usual with the saddle valve then if you need to make it bigger then place a screw or a nail onto the hole and give it a thump with a hammer, or just use a nail and wiggle it in there till the hole is large enough for you, there is no term that we use for this proceedure other than faffing You're doing fine mate, nothing to worry about.

thanks blakey, i must be coming across as being a bit dozy, generally im not but when it comes to ecig stuff i kinda flap a bit. i was just a bit worried about going in to far. since posting ive used a small alum key just too try too give them a bit more width. out of curiosity how far could i go in without causing problems. when i cut an old one in half (binned now) there was a post in the centre, so am i right in thinking you could go in all the way too the post without causing problems, not that i want too go in that far. it just seems that straight in wont hit any fuse wires but would only hit the post.

Your title made me smile Raggy, I initially only read the 'do's and don'ts' bit. My initial reaction was 'don't put eye drops in your ecig and for gods sake don't put egic liquid in your eyes!' Stupidly I've done both!

Stupidly I've done both! lol, ive not quite done that but i have taken off the drip tip and filled the atty before now and taken the atty off and dripped directly into the atty socket. all in the name of trying various methods ??? raggy................

i dunno if this helps but i tested a carto and you can go in 1 and a quarter turns after the pop without worrying about hitting the center tube.... i dont even know if the pin on the valve is sharp enough to pierce the tube but if in doubt a nail, screw or allen key to open the hole a little works

thanks gordy, ive tested a few today and it seems to be 5 to 5.5 turns from turning it from its fully up state. if i then match the saddle against the centre tube of a cut down carto it just misses, i dont think it would do any damage even if you went right up to the centre tube. ive cut 3 old ones down and pulled the outer tubes off. on each one of the 3 there is a wire in the centre tube and one on the outer edge that would almost touch the outer tube. each one i cut down the outer wire is virtually level with one of the 2 air holes. i will in future pop my hole on a side adjacent to the air holes, i would say if you going to knacker one putting hole near the air holes would be the most risky. ive taken some pics of this and of the tube if anyone interested (boring). gordy how did you test yours for depth, did you pull the wadding out and test that way?. raggy.........
