Thanks Julie I have just uttered a huge sigh of relief. I told mt support worker about our cat that got returned and how upset I was. She has just emailed me and said that if we don't find a home by Monday she is going to have her herself!! I couldn't wish for a better home as this lady has been a godsend to me and I trust her more than anyone. I am going to be naughty and just tell her I didn't find anyone else! She told me her and her husband had been talking of taking on a rescue cat and at least she knows Minkys history. One less stress!! Phewwwww

Well,it's been a mixed day. Positives are, we have the keys and my little six yr old granddaughter is unpacker extraordinaire! She ripped through six packing boxes and put everything where I told her to. If anyone wants to hire her services, it will cost you a crunchier ice cream lolly and a date at Costa coffee Another positive. Minky has left this evening to go to her new home with my support worker. I am so pleased it was her that took her. Biiiiiig negative. SKY.... after four days and endless phone calls, this evenings one being over an hour, they still haven't resolved the issues in putting a phone in our place. I've given up.

Sounds mostly positive Blownupdolly well done I've not heard officially but the house is now showing as 'under offer' on the solicitors website, so looks like it's time to start stage 2 of the clear out, and stop buying any more 'stuff'

I'd give them a ring Karma. Seems unusual that they've changed it to 'under offer' without letting you know that it's your offer they've accepted.

I spoke to my solicitor on Thursday and he said he was just waiting for the acceptance to come in and as far as he was aware everything was fine So, I'm pretty sure it's our offer as nobody else, to my knowledge, was interested in the property.

I moved in February and am glad it's into our forever house as I never want to go through it again. My top tip, start the clear out and preparation early. Ours was rushed and we got 11 days notice before the move date, panic stations is an understatement.

Ours was rushed and we got 11 days notice before the move date, panic stations is an understatement. We are in the very same position. Got 10 days notice to move! Today is the big bulky stuff to be moved with the van man. I wonder what the world record is for the most domestic disputes in one day? We must be up there and its not even lunchtime yet i am sat in the car on our driveway like a two yr old. Why are men so disorganised? I feel like i am his mother this morning. Do i really have to spell out every single thing that has to be done and state the correct order? I dont want to go back in. Its like a nuclear bombs gone off!

I do wish everyone luck with their moves. It's so stressfull, I know. We are on the move again after 7 years; unfortunately, last year my husband had to take a substantial pay cut - he was an IT Contractor - but the company he was working for offered him a permie, which is great. Just means we can't really afford to stay here, although, now our son has moved out, in all honesty the house and the garden are too big for us. Anyway, to cut a very long story short, last year (golly it was a terrible year - we all get them, i know...) our neighbour decided to blackmail us! 40 years ago this house we are in now was extended and apparantly, according to the neighbour, nicked a couple of feet of his land. 40 years ago. Hmm...This neighbour wasn't even in situ then, the lady was, but he wasnt. So he marched out last year, after he had seen the photographer for the estate agent, and told me that unless we paid him 2k for the land and ALL legal fees, he would inform any prospective buyer that the property was in 'dispute'. He also said that he would have no option but to inform the estate agents as well...I can't even begin to mention what a state I was in then... We got a solicitor who basically said, 'pay him!' but I baulked at that and with everything else that was happening with my elderly mum and dad, and my son and our finances, I had a huge hissy fit and withdrew the house from the market. During that time I have spoken to other solicitors, chartered surveyors etc and done everything I can to prove we don't owe this guy anything. Everyone we have spoken to has said he's off his rocker and to ignore him but...I even phoned the police and told them all and they said that yes, whilst it was blackmail, it was civil blackmail and not criminal blackmail, but that if he did come on to our property, we were to phone them and we could have him arrested, charged for harrassment. Anyway, a couple of weeks ago I found documentation to basically prove that we are not to be held accountable and told this piece of...man how wrong he was. He didn't believe us and said that a crime is a crime regardless of how old it is! We've heard nothing from him since, but I'm still very concerned that when our house goes on the market in a month or so, he's going to make trouble. We need to sell the property. Hey-ho. Life! Thank god for e-cigs Best of luck to everyone else on here. I hope it goes as smoothly as possible for you all.

Hi all
Just a quickie to let you know we are nearly all moved in and slept our first night there last night. It was so peaceful. Mr D reckons he heard a woodpecker very early this morning. Will have to keep an ear out for him.
Until we sort our internet out I won't be online as much as usual. I am on my iPad at the old house right now. We have been cleaning it up.

I'm still surrounded by boxes and getting last minute panics. Can't find a thing except my vaping gear which is all in it's metal box. Last few days at work then driving down to Norfolk Wednesday night, picking up the truck 7am Friday morning, back up here to load up then down to Norfolk Saturday to unload with plenty of beer handy! 2 weeks off to settle then starting my new job. And no completion date yet! Bloody solicitors. oh and I changed my location due to the excitement of it all but I'm currently still in Newcastle so it's a long distance move.
