I'm beginning to go mad with this whole ecig malarky, if it isn't things breaking or developing a fault, its a horrible tasting vape.
Recently got sick of the innokin gear i had so forked out for an ego kit, which came with 2 batteries and two ce4s, i also ordered a vision spinner at the same time, and a new innokin AIO battery.
Everything works fine when on the spinner, tastes nice. But the ego batteries, no matter what i put on them it just tastes burnt after 2-3 drags. Is it due to the power these batteries put out? I now feel i have to buy some other form of cartos/clearo/whatever to stick on top of these batteries.
Basically nothing has gone well for me since starting vaping, i seem to be more stressed out if anything as i'm constantly messing about with stuff and having to buy new equipment.
Tempted to sell these batteries and just buy another spinner.

Hi there, it could be that the resistance of your clearos is what is causing the burnt taste, if it is the same ones you are using. Most ego batteries fresh off the charger wil out out 4.2ish volts and dully decrease as you use them, depending on the resistance of your coils and the charge on your battery will be how much power (watts) your battery and clearo are putting out.
With the spinner, whatever you have it set to; it is regulating the output even fresh off the charge,so if you have it set at 3.7v for example it will output that slight off charger even though the true voltage of the abt trey will be 4.2ish, hope you are with me so far!
Some juice do not like high volts or watts and will taste burnt, maybe that is why you are having a burnt taste. What do you have your spinner set to? What resistance is your coils?

You get burnt/dry hits from an atomiser problem, not batteries. CE4 are prone to this inthe wicks rant getting enough liquid. How much use have they had, they generally only last 25-30ml of liquid Before the coils clog up.

I am using them on the spinner at its lowest setting, 3.3v i think, does start tasting burnt if i turn it up. Am not sure what the CE4's coil are, will have to check on that. Everything i have is all pretty much brand new, probably refilled the CE4s two or three times. Would i be better off with lower or higher coils if the are putting out over 3.3v?

You are going to be getting about 25% more watts from a freshly charged ego battery than you would on 3.3 volts. The wicks are trying to pull up the juice but cant cope and hence the burnt taste EDIT They must be pretty crappy CE4s

Ego batteries are electronically controlled though so should be a consistent 3.6v then dead, shouldn't be any variation like you get with a mech mod.

If you can get hold of something double coiled, ie iclear16s it should work on either battery set up with adjustment on the spinner voltage. You will have double the wicking capability

I haven't used one in months, but I'm sure there's a good reason

If you don't mind a little more splashing out I would highly recommend a couple of the Mini Protank 2s JimmyJ quite cheap on Myepack. They look good on Ego batteries and Spinners, give a good vape, are bottom coil plus you can make your own microcoils when the stock coil heads are used up. A pack of 5 coils will last a long time if you are confident to microcoil them yourself, just follow super-shinies guide and you are laughing.

I feel your pain JimmyJ, or at least I did some months ago now when I started with a CE4 kit. Keep the batteries and dump the CE4's. As cHooBeyDoo said get a mini protank 2 or even just an evod or two - or both as I did. Waaaaay better and still using them now. Tried an iClear 16 too as robby said and it was great as well until it stripped the 510 threads on the cheaper eGo's. Good luck.

You need to get into the habit of swooshing your eliquid around in the CE4 regularly jimmyjames . . . they still won't be the greatest thing ever, but it should help a little.

I'd just get a standard Protank 2 (single coil) with a 2 ohm coil heads this will work fine on a "fixed voltage" mod.
I would not use a twin coil atomiser on a non VV or VW Ecig.
Good luck!
