+1 on the PG nic base Q - and good advice about the VG too. I never bother to dilute the VG but simply hoover it up with a needle-less syringe from a small cup. The PG will make it less gloopy anyway, and this will at least ensure that the risk of leaking with a very thin liquid is lessened. As long as you have diluted the nic base sufficiently to a sensible (and safe) strength, there really is nothing else that can go wrong; just get in and mix, I used to be so precise about flavouring amounts, now as long as the syringe reads roughly what the recipe states, I'm happy.

Oh great - I've gone & ordered the Alchemists Cupboard Gold Starter Kit now Doesn't matter - I'll just chuck random stuff in bottles, tubes, syringes & other bottles & see what flavour it ends up hahahaha

Oh great - I've gone & ordered the Alchemists Cupboard Gold Starter Kit now It was the right choice, whilst it was a more costly way of buying the ingredients, a mixing starter kit is an excellent way of testing the waters. Not everyone enjoys mixing for starters, a bit like coil building - so if you find it too much of a faff for you, then you've not wasted a shed load of money. If you do enjoy it, then the experience using a kit has been a useful exercise. Alot depends upon your approach to the ingredients and mixing as a whole, make it complicated and it will be. I'd forget the whisker thing Q and keep it for omelettes . . . there isn't a substitute for natural steeping and a little patience.

Add Sellotape to your lists too. Use this over your labels as the ink tends to run from the juice spilt lol

Well, this thread involving Q and CaptainChaos has the makings of a good sitcom! Can't wait until next weekend by which time all supplies will be in, and the mixing will be starting. Think I'm going to get me a good bottle of Shiraz, pop a new microcoil in my dripper, and sit down with some juices to test whilst having a good laugh at the Terrible Twins' mixing antics. The only thing that I'm just a bit concerned about is the fact that Q lives about 30 miles from me - will I be affected by the fallout!?

I'd suggest when you receive your equipment CaptainChaos & Q, that you start new threads seeking any advice you may need.

He'll get his mixing kit and sit looking lovingly at it for a few weeks! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

So true lairey, perhaps I'll have to put the Shiraz on hold - no wait, I might have to have a couple of test runs first

amd still the questions flow... looking at the mixing calculator it seems that I will need to add nic-less PG as well as VG. Now I'm sure I've read somewhere on here that you can buy VG from the likes of Boots but do they sell PG as well or does that have to be ordered online?
I've tried looking at Boots website and it tells you Jack**it and to visit my local Boots store means an afternoon out, where does everyone buy there supplies?
