thank you @munkymunky it would be nice to see this broken down into components really, VG is going to be Boots (no brainer) but what about PG? is there anywhere on the high street that sells this?

amd still the questions flow... looking at the mixing calculator it seems that I will need to add nic-less PG as well as VG. Now I'm sure I've read somewhere on here that you can buy VG from the likes of Boots but do they sell PG as well or does that have to be ordered online? I've tried looking at Boots website and it tells you Jack**it and to visit my local Boots store means an afternoon out, where does everyone buy there supplies? I bought my pg from Here. Usually I don't use any though as I mix 50/50 approx. if my mix requires 1ml or more pg then I will put it in but if it's less then I just add more vg.

Thank you everyone, as a rookie mixer I would like to stick to the recipe so feel it would help if I keep some PG, especially as I want to experiment with zero nic at some stage, but certainly dropping my nic content with each batch

You've had some good links for PG above ^^^ Q, and yes it's always a good idea to follow a recipe the first few times just to be sure. You can always re-jig it at a later stage once you have gained a better insight into mixology. If you are looking for 50/50 mixes, you might even find that if your nic strength is low (54mg/ml) and you use a lot of flavouring (which of course is PG-based), then you may have to up the PG percentage a bit otherwise the maths just doesn't add up!

Thats EXACTLY what I was finding, I was playing with the calc link and most of my dry runs suggested adding extra PG hence asking if its available on the high street, my thoughts are to buy a high nic content so I can thin it with cheaper base so I was looking at 72mg and wanting to mix at around 10mg

Q - goes without saying really that the larger quantity you can afford to buy, the cheaper it works out. My vaping mate and I aim to buy nic base and diluents in at least 500ml sizes, and in fact just this evening have been chatting about buying in 1 litre of nic base when we can next afford it. As we only mix at a maximum of 10mg strength, that will last us a good long time. We bought 500ml of 72mg nic base in the run up to Christmas, and with both of us using it we still have half left!!
