Did someone mention wall to wall sunshine? I managed 30 mins on the sun deck this morning, but in the shade temps of 102, are not very conducive to basking for long. . Still, I'm home on Wednesday so can enjoy the rain with the rest of you then! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

gill2009 I'm down in Hawick. I've just been to Melrose and back, didn't enjoy the drive at all. Couldn't believe how many people didn't have their lights on or how close they were driving. Seems to have dried up here now though

We now have a temporary improvement - stopped raining and threatening to brighten up. Blimey, wouldn't living in the UK be boring if we had wall-to-wall sunshine all the time!? We would have nothing to talk about on fora! I don't find wall-to-wall sunshine boring at all It would make a nice change from wall to wall rain !

Bizarre weather Part II - I've been kayaking this morning on the River Fal, from Loe Beach up towards Truro. Sat on a little beach at low tide drinking coffee, vaping and chatting to my best mate. We commented on how the morning had been better than forecast, with light airs, warm air and clouds starting to break up with blue sky and a few glimpses of the sun. Got back to the car and again sat on a wall at the top of the beach to finish our flasks, and watched a couple of families meet and set up a picnic on the beach. Children in shorts and t-shirts, lots of other activity on the beach, and the threat again of some sun. Clouds were piling up to the west, and we said that someone was copping a shower west of our position. Got back into the car to drive the 6 miles home (we both live within 500m of each other!), and bugger me, we hadn't driven more than a mile and encountered what can only be described as a cloudburst. Water pouring off the fields, and deep water on both sides of the lanes we were using. Got home and decided that there was no point us both getting wet so have left the kayaks on my car, and waiting for the rain to stop so I can drop Tim's boat around to him later. Talk about a county of extremes - wonder how wibble got on this morning on the North coast, some 8 miles away on the other side!?

It is VERY bizarre, we've not had rain here today, bit overcast this morning but sunny with little fluffies at the moment, not hot but very pleasant, are you SURE we're both in the same county?

We would have nothing to talk about on fora! Do you remember the summer of 1976? ( I think it was then...near abouts anyway ) It was wall to wall sunshine and high temperatures from end of April through September. People were still talking about the weather....they were moaning that it was too hot and we could do with some rain

We were hoping to see Sammy, who is the resident seal off Turnaware Bar, but he was obviously off fishing somewhere else. Great to see porpoises this close to the shore this early in the year, means the sea must be warming up nicely (not that we noticed that this morning!)..

Talk about localised weather, eh? Tim took his dog for a walk around Stithians Lake this afternoon and was again walking in bright sunshine while I was looking out of the window at the steady rain. Stithians is 2 miles away!!
