Well, our plucky little lab rat certainly gave it a go..

Friday night was a bit of a blur. Same venues, same people but somehow very alien and awkward.. Like getting into the car and realising you've completely forgotten how to drive.
I didn't understand just how integral smoking was to a weekend drinking session so it felt like I'd spent my entire time trying to re-learn what to do. My mind was often 'elsewhere' and one or two people commented about how I wasn't listening and seemed to stare straight through them.

In the interest of the experiment I chose to continue stealth vaping. I felt that introducing unknown variables at this late stage might have a negative influence on the results. I pre-filled my cartos with my strongest tobacco flavours and vaped like crazy with my back to the pub window and my friends didn't suspect a thing. The whole night was hard work but I know that the alcohol test will become easier next time.

That's right folks.. Crucial test stage 4 - Passed.

The fun part of this experiment is now reaching it's closing stages. This is the bit where I come out of the closet as an ex-smoker. It's the part where this bit of fun becomes cold, hard reality.
This experiment will become a serious one. I will no longer be allowed to have a cigarette any time I like (as set out in my original 'fun' experiment design). My friends and family will all be so proud of me.. I will fear letting them down in the future. This will be, by far, the longest and most critical test stage yet.

How do you folks do it? ???

Riva's are fantastic I have only burnt 2 out due to using LR carto's dunno why but tornado's and ego's don't seem to have the same problem , but hey ho life is a lottery . Still lovin my Riva batts

For me the test starts every morning when I wake , I still grab one of my "pipes" ( easier to talk about in the house ) and have a few blasts of nic , just as I did with a cig . 10 months in I still fancy a tab but hey ho I don't I try a peach or a menthol or an ry4 or ...................blah blah instead

Don't put yourself under any pressure to not smoke a cigarette would be my best advice Red . . . not everyone makes the changeover seamlessly . . . it took me several weeks, then I just woke up one morning not wanting a cigarette.

I knew if I could get past that 'must have' first one of the day, it was doable . . .

Do it when you see fit .. I was lucky in some ways coz I made the switch in a cpl of weeks , but like I said in my previous post I still have the "urge" for a nasty most days even 10 months in .. but with the nic juice at hand in any device the "urge" soon goes away

Thanks guys. It's obvious that I've been thinking far too long about telling people about this. It's become a bigger deal than it really should be. My fun experiment has been working so well up 'til now. It'd be a shame to ruin it by adding pressure by labeling myself an ex-smoker. I shall continue my field experiments and will in due course allow my friends and family to become impartial (safety goggled) observers.

Ooooo, don't stop nattering about vaping Red, that's part of the fun . . . just don't put yourself under pressure to make a complete switch in a set time frame.

Do it at your pace, one that you feel comfortable with, that's all that is important.

Red we are all different and need to take things at our own pace , don't put yourself under any pressure , just go with it and when you feel it's the right moment put down the cig and pick up the riva .. you will know when the time is right for YOU

Actually, I was wondering if there are any decent/proper natural fruit flavoured e-liquids out there. It seems like all the ones I've tried taste like cheap boiled sweets and I'm really missing the full fruitiness of my Sheesha/Hookah pipe.

And another thing.. I've read that it's legal to vape pretty much anywhere but how does this work in reality?
Has anyone done it on public transport or an airplane or airport? Any reprimands by jobsworths? I'd love to join the vaping 'mile high club'!
