You could try calling Ash at myepack, they used to sell the Zmax on it's own, but now it's only listed as a full kit... he might be able to sell you one without the kit

What actually happened to the SVD? vom Do you have the small tube left?

Hi ruffdog I had a problem with the fire button working intermittently and the ohm checker not reading the coil resistance. Did the usual raising the centre pin, which fixed it for a while. However today it fired and stayed on, (got abit warm!!!), when I tried raising the centre pin the solder had come away with the wire and had dropped into the unit. I am sending it Dr ronaldo tomorrow, but I think on this occasion I think it may be terminal. If Dr Ronaldo can't resuscitate it he will hopefully be able to transplant some of its organs to give another SVD a chance to live a full and productive life.

Buy both . . . that's my solution to many shopping dilemma's as you know you've made the right decision then vom. 

Both devices are excellent for me, although along with the battery versatility of the Zmax, it is neater size wise - Zmax/Vamo V5 & SID all in 18650 mode:

Hi Perpetua I have emailed Ash at myepack to see if he can sell the zmax unit on its own. he can as I like dealing with myepack, they are one of the better vendors I have used.

Has anyone else had a problem with the SVD turning itself off intermittently? I'm half way through a vape and it just dies. Any easy fixes?

I think a lot of it is to do with the centre pin being temperamental, have you tried raising it slightly?
