Ya got my vote decoy. We only lack one thing and that is visibility, visibility on the telly, visibility in the press etc. I dont mean some vaping associations etc. At the moment we are an ever growing number, but that`s all we are at the moment, a number. Personally I think that with the increased understanding by non vapers and bigger surveys common sense will prevail. If any of the aforementioned measures come in there will be uproar from the vaping community and then we will see some visibility. It`s not complacency on my part. It`s the way I see things panning out and just my opinion.

I wonder if it would help if someone put together a letter which we could all copy and send to our respective MP's.
The members of this forum are located in all areas of the UK and this would mean a large number of our MP's would be made aware of the feelings of 2 million ex-smokers who are using electronic cigarettes for all the right reasons.

We've already done that, and signed every petition under the sun, so what's next?

I've just re-read the whole of the TPD in relation to e-cigs and would like to correct a few statements made here: - Nowhere does it mention 0mg juice; that would be unenforcable anyway since consumers can freely buy the three main ingredients required. The TPD concentrates heavily on three aspects of e-cigs : nicotine strength, nicotine container/cartridge safety and promotion of ecigs (banning adverts except in specialist publications). Restrictions on flavoured juice are down to individual countries. No mention is made of importing nicotine from outside the EU (China/US in our case), but no inter-EU selling due to differences in legislation (probably because each country has to still pass this directive and the flavouring option). Maxium nicotine strength in a 10ml bottle is 20mg and maximum capacity of a tamper-resistant leak proof carto is 2ml. - According to everything I've read this directive would have a hard time fighting off a legal challenge in the UK. Pages 6 and 7 mainly deal with e-cigs : ec.europa.eu/health/tobacco/docs/dir_201440_en.pdf
