So - the TPD states that from 2016, tanks over 2ml are banned. Liquid over 20mg is banned.

BUT, there is a nasty skeleton in the cupboard waiting to royally f-up all of us using refillable atomizers.

and that is.... yes... the 'refillable' bit. The TPD certainly reads as if single-use tamper-proof atomizers are going to be normal method for non-cartomizer e-cigs from that point on.

I fear this is the future. The same old nonsense about 300 puffs per refill, one refill is 5 (or 10) times as expensive as using e-liquid, all the normal stuff.

and the claims are downright disgraceful.

2,000 Vapers. Are there 2,000 Vapers who use/know Vype and would give of their time to 'assist' in the process? No chance. 2,000 dual users maybe...but not in real life... some sort of questionnaire, surely.

Yup. Me too.

I just have a bad feeling about this type of system, and the fact it is backed by the money of Big Tobacco.
Big Tobacco will make out this is good enough for nearly all users and all the current refillable users can use this.

Then again, worst case, some e-cig companies can produce exactly the same... but it's going to be a painful process.

They know its a massive money pot now. All the big guns want a slice and those in the know will have to get devious. Wonder if they'll instigate house raids? And is 4 litres of nicotine base enough to last my lifetime? I'll be going up to Big Mike's to get my 5 ml tanks in a couple of years time!
Generosity will be a thing of the past with each of us stashing our hoards for the future!

The thing that annoys me the most is the vendors who make the vaping business there life which provides for there family.

Which if this goes through will have an impact on them.
Which means the gov are destroying independent shops and less buisness for there towns etc

So only 3 flavours to choose from, tobacco, cherry & mint + only 18mg nicotine, no higher & no lower.

Great choice these guys offer.

Good job most of us are pretty well stocked up with vape gear, and remember there's always China for more vape gear if it becomes necessary


Also don't forget that Totally Wicked are challenging the TPD in 2015 through the EU courts let's hope they are successful

Surely they can't ban the sale of nicotine concentrate.. Its used for many other things and if it did get banned there is always the option to import! Kinda how it is on Australia, you can buy eliquid but they are usually double strength as nicotine sales is prohibited and you buy 15ml in a 30ml bottle then top it up with half the nicotine and you have 30ml of juice. This is pretty much the standard way it's done in Australia.

And if it came down to it I would wean myself off the nicotine and just Vape 0mg,"e-shisha" as they call it

And surely it won't affect hardware either?

Each Vype ePen refill cap (Blended Tobacco Flavour) contains 27mg (1.8% v/v) nicotine

So, 1.8% - that's 18mg per ml, so 1.5ml per refill cap.
4.5ml for the set of three at £7.99 , or if you like 1.78 per ml

Let's say out of kindness that the more enthusiastic B&M's will be knocking out 10ml for £4.99, so that's easy math

So... Hats off to British American Tobacco for their 356% mark-up...

Time for a social media campaign, I think.

Remember that we must not align ourselves with conspiracy theorists who might think that, facing their Kodak moment, Big Tobacco and Big Pharma (NRT) did a lot of lobbying to get the European Tobacco Products Directive.

#TPD bans any e-liquid great than 2% concentration unless it's sold through the medical route. 
#TPD bans sale of e-liquid in containers greater than 10ml
#TPD bans any device that has the potential to leak (including time of refill)
#TPD regulatory demands (in excess of £100K per product / product variation, be it eliquid or hardware, and yes that does take out VV batteries without defined steps) will take out all small / medium businesses
#TPD bans cross boarder sales
