Okay, a long shot I know and no doubt many Vendors as well as Vapers would like to know what Vaping will be, 7 years from now, but I have just done a Stock Check and I reckon I have enough to keep me going for 7 years.
At 68, I don't really want to invest in 20 or 30 years worth of Vaping Materials, but at the same time, I don't want to get to the stage that when I run out, I have to return to smoking just because there is no Vaping paraphernalia left.
So thoughts please!
I know where I would like Vaping to be in 7 years time, Status Quo and all that
But where do you think Vaping will be, in the UK, 7 years from now?

I think the tide is turning in our favour, but I think it will become more expensive and the govenment will want to tax it

My guess is that a combination of regulation and taxation will limit the extent to which vaping will continue to replace smoking.
The only totally ‘legal’ devices will be based on sealed nicotine controlled cartridges which are as ‘we’ know fairly useless. They will be produced by the big tobacco companies and increasingly taxed above 20% on the basis of false health claims.
More than 80% of the population don’t smoke (or vape) already they all benefit from the current levels of taxation on smoking. They will not be all that concerned if vaping takes over from smoking as a revenue cow. Indeed most will happily support punitive taxation I suspect. On the bright side I doubt this will have much affect on those of us who can already make a coil and mix some juice although we will have to import more of our kit and consumables. Our home grown retailers will be big losers I fear.
Just my guesses; I hope for better things but as always with these things follow the money.

Whilst depending on where we live we may not see many or even any vapers, in the states it is huge, there is no way all those people are going to stop vaping.
Expensive legal stuff, or go underground for gear I think will be the way.

I also think they will license all sales of nicotine.

Maybe something like this would be the permanent way of vaping, indoors only of course. Struggle by with something the govt allow at work / outdoors, come home to this little set up.
This is the hooka? that you convert to a vaping device. I don't know how long a life span the battery would have, or if the tank for eliquid is disposable, recoilable or even if it has coils, I only watched the vid recently so haven't checked, but these things used for their original purpose have been around years so ................?

I think they'll make mods with the same shelf life as other white goods and it'll be taxed to the hilt...
Smoking will be illegal and vaping will the status quo

I know that the Scottish Government are hoping to ban all smoking in public places by the year 2020, but whether this will include vaping remains to be seen. Also I don't know whether "public places" include outdoors or not.
All in all I am hoping that the health of the nation will over rule greed and profits but perhaps that is a forlorn hope.

7 years from now? I worry about 1 year from now... and I think 'vaping' could be the least of our problems. Unless those in power around the world 'grow a pair' and get to grips with the problems we all face, and without playing politics and/or corruption. A lot of 'banging heads' is required. Just wanted to end the evening on an 'up' note!

When I bought my first e-cig, just over 6 years ago, there were hardly any other vapers in the whole of the UK & virtually no one had heard of them. Back then, there was just pretty pathetic cigalikes - but I still thought they were the best invention ever. How times have changed & I'm fairly certain they will continue to change - for the better. My gut feeling is that in 7 years time, hardly anyone will be smoking - the majority will be using e-cigs instead. However, what our (& other) governments will do about it, I can't predict. Yes, they will lose millions of pounds from the tax on real cigs, but if they care a jot about our health, they have to leave e-cigs alone - sadly though, I doubt that will be the case

I also think that smoking will be pretty much extinct in 7 years time.
But, I'm also convinced that whatever alternative we are using will be owned and sold by the Tobacco or Pharma companies.

Power doesn't come from Westminster directly, it's from the dark and shady corridors of 'lobbying' and 'brown envelopes'. I'm stopping there before it becomes a rant.
