I am now 1 week into the vaping adventure, and 0 analogs, but I seem to have used about 15 ml of e-liquid in a week. That's 30mg liquid. So high nicotine. Is that about normal? Low/high? I have an Electron M from Totally Wicked but it doesn't seem to produce the clouds of vapour I have seen in some You Tube vids. How you you get clouds like that? Maybe I have a wimp of a vaping machine. What should I expect?

I get through about 5ml of juice a day, shared across maybe three of four tanks. My juice is almost all mixed at home, as opposed to shop-bought, and is almost all at 10mg strength. It is also at 50/50 PG/VG. It is vaped in predominantly Russians or Kayfun Lites, and with a coil of around 1.3ohm. I get a good amount of vapour, satisfying at least, although not antisocial or dangerous!
The great clouds you see on YouTube are misleading for two simple reasons: first, the juice is guaranteed to be very high in VG, the ingredient which produces the vapour. Second, the juice will be vapourised on a dual coil dripper which is running at a very low resistance, perhaps as low as .3ohm, or even lower. This means that the coils heat up very quickly and vapourise huge quantities of juice very quickly too. With a well set up tank running at an average power setting, you should be able to get an acceptable amount of vapour providing that your juice has a good percentage of VG in it, and your coils are clean, not 3 weeks old and gunked up to buggery!

I use far too much, I'd hate to measure it, just lucky that I mix my own. Not a big fan of TW (to put it mildly), your kit is very much a starter kit, you will get vapour but certainly not clouds, you will need to upgrade to something better for that. on your one week anniversary

work day - 3-5ml home day - 5-10ml 15ml in a week is pretty normal i would say, its all very dependant on atomizer used, vape habits. whatever keeps you off the smokes

chykensa the Electron M IS dual coil, but 2.4ohm Thanks Q, was just going to check ,but won't bother spending a minute longer on that site than I can! Bobsbeer - Totally Wicked have a 'reputation' for rebranding readily-available items as their own, adding a sizeable whack of profit on in the process. You would be much better perusing the likes of www.myepack.co.uk or www.vapeescape.co.uk for some more sensible prices!

Thanks chykensa I'm beginning to see that. lol. I only have a TW shop locally as far as I can tell and paid them a visit today. I saw a nice pipe style machine for sale at £75, when a google came up with one similar for a third of the price. But on the plus side it gave me a chance to sample a whole bunch of different flavours for nothing. And about 30 mins vaping. lol. I clearly need to research mixing my own.

My first few weeks I was getting through a lot of liquid at 18mg I think I was afraid to stop incase I reverted back to the cig. I took my starter kit everywhere it was constantly in my hand. 3rd and 4th week I was a bit more controlled still on 18mg but vaping less 5th and 6th week I found I am vaping more in the mornings and a lot less in the afternoon and evening about 5ml a day and I am now on 12mg I say what ever gets you through the first few weeks can only be a good thing.

The mixing thing just looked so frightening and complex when I first started Bobsbeer, but once I plucked up the courage and gaive it a go, I realised that it really wasn't that difficult. If you are used to brewing (just a guess!) then the recipe and ingredient mixing will be easy. A bit of care with the nicotine and cleanliness (although not as critical to the whole process as with wine- or beer-making) will be sufficient. There is nothing more satisfying than vaping a homemade juice which you have mixed yourself. Have a good look through the Mixology board and ask for help there if you need it; there are dozens of mixers on the forum, and loads of help and advice.

From time to time someone will start a poll on juice use, and every time the average comes out at around 5ml per day

That's a bit reassuring. Thanks for the replies. I know I'm on the high nicotine strength at the moment, but I figured start high and get out of the habit of regular fags, then cut down on the nicotine in a controlled way. I know I'm only a week into vaping, but I'm beginning to wonder why I didn't try this years ago. It's an enjoyable past time without the negatives of regular smoke.

Big welcome to AAEC bud. Yep on average I guess 5-8 mil depends what tanks I'm using on what device lol. Also if I'm in a lot of pain I vape more. Really bad day 10 mil + 90% of my juice are 10mg at 50/50 pg vg homemade. I started mixing 2-3 weeks after I started vapeing. Been nerely 9 months now since last stinkie. Well done on your first week I would reccomend an istick device will last you all day no hassles. Protank 2 with additional airflow controller. All available from myepack and vapeescape. And get the 3 unicoils from virtual vape. These our preform the standard atomiser heads any day and you can easily rewick them yourself. In time we can teach you how to make your own coils.
