So MrMac dropped his istick with his kayfun on top last night onto a laminate floor. At first all seemed well but within half hour the ohms reader was showing 0.0 and then either low atomizer, no atomizer or short. I ran several tests including taking down the kayfun and checking for shorts, screwing on a further two atomisers and pulling up the centre pin a little and it's still the same. It will work for maybe a few pulls then back to the same screen display. The other tanks work on the other batteries...does this mean it's probably a loose wire inside and effectively buggered ???

Oh poo, that's the politest way of saying what I am feeling for you at the moment! I have no understanding of elecktrickery but I suspect you could be right. I'm sure more knowledgeable folk will be along soon who may be able to help you Mrsmac, but I feel your pain! icon_shoppingm

I feel bad for him as we have 3 each, a tank on two of them, and a charged spare. It was just the night before I said that I am mindful that they are a disposable product of course we can share

Its quite possible that the stress of hitting the floor with the Kayfun attached has knackered the connection to the 510. Not having one apart yet i dont know if the 510 is a wired connection or directly to a board as there's not a lot of room in there for much wire. You could get someone to break it down for you but to be honest as a new one is so cheap im not sure if it would be worth it

It sounds like the 510 got damaged, it might have just pushed the pin in or as @windows said broken a solder joint on the 510 wiring. Try pulling the pin up, it that doesn't work unscrew the top plate and look for a disconnected wire,

Mrsmac that's so sad. I find it hard to put used wicks in the bin just incase lol. I can't imagine having to put my wee pink shiny in the bin. Hopefully it can be mended. Fasttech to the rescue

Indeed, thank you all, I think I will secretly order him another from FT with that it gets here before Crimbo. I'll also take off the top and see if there are any loose parts but if all else fails then at least one will be on route But shhhh, don't tell MrMac...its a secret, he loves the little things...bless him

This guy fitted a Fat Daddy 510 and larger battery, but had to 3D print a taller top.

Move over vamos....there is new kid on the block - the istick tbh dropping anything with electricary in it isnt gona do it any good looking at no one particular if it is just a broken solder joint it shouldent be to hard to fix(kinda sounds like it is)if its at the 510 but if its the board then it prob is time for new one
