This afternoon I will mostly be recoiling I have 20 single coil heads that I am fine doing, but I have 12 dual coils to do too. I find It really fiddly holding the 2 coils in place while putting the gromit and pin back in. I tried cocktail sticks (too big) and it doesn't help that I only have one 1.4mm screwdriver so can't hold two in place. Does anyone have any top tips, ingenious solutions to help with the dual coils?

Use the single coil head with an extra chimney grommet on, fits perfectly! reddragon

Or just put a single coil in the dual coil head, with an extra bit of wick on top of the coil so as to fill the channels

You could wrap your coils around blunt needles if you have any of the right diametre, easy to hold in place too

Should the likes of this be put someplace into the guides? Along with other tips that those in the know are aware of?

Both solutions work fine. I tend to use the dual coils with a single coil and an extra flavour wick across the top to fill the gap. I use a drill bit to keep them in place when recoiling them. Fiddly but worth it.

I use the unicoil black gromet for the aerotank with normal single microcoil Tbh it beats a stock duel head. I'll have a go in a couple days at doing a duel coil head. I'll have to work out the wire guage for ohms etc.

I've been having sleepless nights wondering how I'm ever going to rebuild a dual coil! Another technique you might be interested in is rebuilding a Kanger dual coil with a VERTICAL single coil. Has anyone tried it? I came across it below: Vertical Single Coil
