Thanks AndyB. Actually while Googling, I came across another Vape Forum and they have a YouTube video on how to recoil a Kanger dual coil with pre-made coils (bag of pre-made coils for a "few quid"). They claim the process is easy. I wasn't sure if I'm allowed to post the link on here? you can and there are loads of you tube video guides... the step by step photo guides are great though as you can take your time But come and ask us if you decide to give recoiling a go... it really is much easier than it first looks.

+1 on lairey's comment, it really is easier than it looks. Worth a go, and will save you pounds, plus the satisfaction of vaping on a coil that you built yourself. The flavour and longevity is excellent too.

If you do decide to have a go with the protank recoil and get stuck I'm happy to ring and talk you through it. All the best and well done on day 2.

Right ... I'll get together a little toolkit with appropriate tools in the next week or so and will have a go at recoiling after Christmas!

Oooooh! I thought dual coils were meant to produce a "better" vaping experience as in warmer and producing more vapour? If you buy an iStick or any VV/VW device you'll find that they will give you a ' better ' vaping experience in themselves mikemichelle, so there's less of a need to use anything that's dual coiled anyway.

And if you do go down the 'tool kit' route remember the pound shop is your friend (for the tiny screwdriver)

+1 for the istick as Perps says. They don't come more technically inept than me I can assure you, but I have mastered the art so you definitely will be able to. I use the Gs-h2 from Fasttech. They work out at just under the £1, come in 5 colours and after a recoil and cotton wick give off clouds and loads of taste. I usually receive them within 2 weeks. I would post a link but don't know how ...as I said...technically inept...but they look like this. See can't even get the pic up the right way...but you get the gist

Doesn't always work padiho but most of the time it does. If it doesn't just google the BB Code (that's what this forum is most written in that we post in) Hope that helps......

Some advice I picked up recently; when recoiling a dual-coil Protank head, simply insert a slim cocktail stick in the slots (this raising the coil slightly in the aforementioned slots) before adding your single microcoil and this does away with the need for a faffy flavour wick on top. I haven;t actually tried this yet as I'm waiting for my wife to kill a DC Protank head, but once she does I will try this and report back! I'm all ears ... I mean eyes ... you know what I mean! Will look forward to hearing/seeing how you get on!

Just when I thought I was getting a handle on this coil thingy, I've read another post that has thrown me into a state of temporary (hopefully) delirium (it's easily done)! The other post was recommending a user got himself (as part of his set-up) a couple of "unicoils that are microcoils" ....arrrrgggghhhhhh!!!
My next question (in the quest to becoming a Vape Grand Master): Do these unicoils (that are microcoils ...duh!) ever need replacing? I thought coils burnt out fairly regularly but (and I may have got this wrong), this unicoil (which is a microcoil ...duh!) doesn't seem as if it burns out. Can someone please comment as to whether this unicoil is something of a more permanent kinda bit of kit (hope you understand where I'm coming from)?

The Unicoil is just a microcoiled head that you can buy as a complete unit. You then just have to remove the old wick when it gets gunky, dry burn the coil to get the gunk off that and put a new wick in. It's for people who don't want to do their own recoiling but can rewick. I am a cackhanded numpty but with help from this forum can recoil most types of heads. Using thicker wire than is in the heads when new I find the microcoils are virtually indestructible.

mikemichelle Unicoils are to the coil world what Dysons are to the vacuum world. They are a brand name. They are a great way to experiment with microcoils without having to make them yourself. No coils are indestructable, but a well built microcoil can last months with just a small amount of maintenance

I regularly let my microcoils in my Kayfuns go for 4-6 weeks, only replacing them because I fancy making a coil but have nothing to fit one in!! With a dryburn between rewicking, they will last for a very long time!
