Was in the supermarket earlier today, and had two people come up to me and ask 'Are you Paul O'Grady'?
This didn't surprise me, as it does happen quite often, and we had a good laugh... but at least it was better than a few years ago when I got called 'Lily Savage' by colleagues... but I soon battered that out of them.
Yes, I can see a certain likeness... silver hair, glasses, slim features and I don't mind at all at the comparison with such a loveable person... but 'Lily'... NO.
Anyone else had similar experiences?

I used to be mistaken for Deidre Barlow in the 80's, prob be with me and her wearing same big owl glasses and having short hair, infact on a weekend in Blackpool a bunch of Scottish lads followed me and my friend from pub to pub with them asking for my autograph, so to get rid of them I did sign the back of a beer mat saying with love Anne Kirkbride  , it worked and I was left in peace lol. |

I was on Tiswas back in 1974. My schoolmate won the Tricky Test Time competition, predicting India had the highest rainfall of any country. Clever sod. So his dad drove us down to Brummingem, where I met up with Chris Tarrant and Sally whose name I don't recall, and we were lead into the studio. Excitement. Except I had to stand not behind the broadcasting desk, but behind a ton of Scouters who boinged up and down all day. My 15 minutes of fame obscured. Did have a great laugh though, when my mate was doused with a bucket of water by Chris for getting the question right. Wasn't Tiswas great?
