Recently all my juices are sparking up out of the drip tip just when I press the button at first. Not nice. Sometimes the wee spark which is hot juice, hits me in the eye. I have to remember to let it spark before having a puff. Other thing is, my 'pipe' gets really hot at the connection bit. I am using aspire spinner and sometimes just an ego. Aspire bottom coils. Do you think it is the coils? I like them I must say, but never noticed this dam sparking before . Thanks all. Oh the new Eleaf battery looks good to me, do you think that would help or is it def. down to the coils?

I'd say it was a problem with wicking crazyquilter. Have you tried anything else on your mod/e-cig? If you're not getting on with the aspire what about the protank2 then learnt to rebuild it (fiddly but perfectly possible) or if you don't want to fork out that cash pm me your address and I'll bung 5 old school (but good - very hard to get hold of) Dual coil cartomisers in the post for you and you can try filling those (little bit of a hassle. You need to learn the 'condom method' - no actual condoms used. Just the plasticky packaging that the cartomisers come in) Hugs Jane

What ohms are your coils, what are you running them at and how long have they been in use. crazyquilter? Could be you're running them at too high a voltage, causing the spitting . . . try turning it down a bit, see if that helps. You can't go wrong with an iStick if you get one, but be prepared to tinker a little with the voltage/wattage settings, as it runs on a Mean function rather than RMS - so you don't need to blast the life out of coils to get a good vape.

" hits me in the eye" you should be using your mouth....!
Hot is normal "really hot" maybe not, are you talking too hot to touch?
Sounds like your coil, change it. Have never used the type of coils you have but Google dry burning (your coil here) that might help save it. Sticking a spitting coil into the eleaf will aggravate the problem, it has more power than your other devices.
edit; due to replies above and I was assuming it was doing it on all your devices, including the ego.
But as said above if it's just on the eleaf tell us the ohms of the coil.

Thanks all. I don't know what ohms the coils are. Have taken a photo of the box, back and front, just in case you recognise what they are. Looked on the coil itself and says only CE what I can make out anyway. I don't have the Ileaf or Eleaf, man who was selling it was english and I can't make out the accent, me being scottish like you Jane. I was born in Aberdeen so there you go......... I change the coil about every 4 days, as I like the vape better with a newer coil. Gets expensive, but hey not so expensive as the old ciggies, so I ain't complaining. Actually it runs in my mind it might be 8ohms, don't know where I got that from, maybe the vendor. What's rms setting and mean setting please? (I'm good at making apple tarts, excuse for ignorance here).. Yes, I turned it down a bit and I don't think it is spitting just as much, but I like the vape better when it's higher. Oh Lordy is this making any sense? Nope can't get images on.................sorry.

It's 1.8 ohms, read it on the side of the box, would recommend the 2.1 ohm for an istick or turning it down a bit

Now I see it............ I missed it. Is 2.01 more or less than 1.8 meaning is it stronger/hotter the higher the ohms. How do you know which strength of coil to use in whatever battery? This is a scientific process! I wonder how many batteries/coils you have to try together before you get what you think is the perfect 'outfit' for you? There are so many different batteries, threads, cartomisers, it's enough to make you run for the hills (with your pipe of course)!

How did you learn this? Or rather how can I learn to be as knowledgeable?

How did you learn this? Or rather how can I learn to be as knowledgeable? It's really not difficult, it's called ohms law and derivatives of. I have the advantage of training as an electrician many years ago. V=I*R W=V*I W= V 2/R so the last one is most useful, if you wanted to vape at 5 watts and your atty is 1.8 ohms then the voltage required to achieve 5 watts would be 3 volts. 5w=3v 2/1.8

No it's the other way around, the smaller the ohms the hotter it will get assuming the voltage applied is the same in both cases.

It's trial and error for me. i'm vaping at 5.2 watts on istick with a 2.1 ohm coil in my aerotank mini perfection. If i was using my SID mod I would need about 7.5 watts
There is a chart on here somewhere giving an idea of watts and ohms for the istick which simply put runs hotter than most other vw devices meaning you need to drop the watts.
I spend too much time on here and eventually things start to sink in a bit

I usually have it at 4.3. but it still spits and sparks at that setting. If I set it lower, I don't get a good puff. Thankyou for the lesson, but I still don't understand. Ask me how many apples you need to buy for a tart, and I could tell you that, or even how many yards of fabric for a quilt, but ohms and volts, well I'm totally in the dark. Anyway how would I know if I wanted to vape at 5watts or not? Oh I appreciate your help, I really really do. It's an electrical minefield to me - sorry to say.
