I'm just using the Nautilus coils at the minute as I'm waiting for my NI200 to come. I'm just not sure about all this yet and wanted to know if this is normal.

If the extra amps are being used by the various bits of the system and not going into the battery expect them to produce heat @letsavit. I have not seen the zip set up, does the pad/sender plug into the mains or USB?

I have not seen the zip set up, does the pad/sender plug into the mains or USB? Yea the pad has USB so I can monitor it if I find the right leads to plug this in to that etc.... Wont test zip charging to its max itself though as was I have tested for my other project it's max is 900mah with the receiver card sitting straight on the pad, lowers as more thickness of material between pad and receiver is added. Hammond box = 0mah. Ha ha. might do the shark though to see how much my skin is affecting it.

Sorry guys, I have another question. I have a couple of of Xtar 2100mah 20 amp batteries which I believe are VTC4 rewrapped, would these be ok to use in the VS?

Yes, if they are VTC4s, but the DNA has a high level of battery protection and will turn it's self down if the battery is struggling, but in light of the issues with charging this thread is about I would be happier with a VTC or 25R (including re-wrapped ones) as they are safe to charge with up to 4 A.

Actually they're 30amp, as far as I remember that's why I bought them as sites are listing them as a VTC4 cell.
I may just charge my batteries on my Nitcore charger and switch them out. Or do any of you use a wall adapter with the usb cable?
Is the LG battery that comes with the VS no good, and if not why do VS supply them with the mod?

Charge current is always a lot lower than discharge current VTC4 IIRC is 30 A continuous discharge, 60 A pulse discharge, 1.5 A charge current & 4 A Fast Charge current.
The LGs are OK, similar rating to the 20R IIRC.
I prefer using a dedicated charger, but al long as you don't have the problem this thread is about there should be no problem charging in the VS just don't leave it charging unattended and keep checking it is not getting too hot (> 40 Celsius as a rough guide/guess).

How do I change between Celsius and Fahrenheit? Go into temp adjusting mode (lock then hold the up+down buttons for 5 sec) than scroll down past 200° F. Mine just stays at 200°F so assume mine must be Fahrenheit only

Don't forget good old SWG (standard wire gauge) Bob Think that is only used in cables these days like the stuff used for making steel wicks in Gennies, in the work I was in I never came across it, so what I don't know etc....

No need to be put off m8, it was more of a heads up on a couple of issues( which must have been either down to two faulty units, or operator error)
Mine has totally changed my vaping experience .
