I've got to ask whether it's the device or the battery creating the heat.
The one's I've seen advertised come with an 'LG 2500mah 35A 18650 Battery'. There's no such battery so what is it really??

Mine has been fine, but as I say above I charge externally. Good of Evapo to let us know about the issue though, some retailers would say nothing.

There's no such battery so what is it really?? on the battery it says LGDBHE21865 N219H072A2 and mine like blakey says has had no problem with USB charging although mine did get quite hot using the Qi charging, got mine from Grey Haze a while back, so might be a newer batch that is causing problems EDIT More info on the battery here: www.batterysupports.com/lg-lgdbhe21865-high-drain-2500mah-36v-20a-lithium-ion-lion-p-345.html

Here we go again with vendors misclaiming specifications. I'll not single out one vendor cos they all seem to be doing it. The LG HE2s are only rated at 20 Amps!! Even the pulse rating is only 30Amps. Though even with 1Amp charging there should be no heat, so there probably is a hardware issue. Just bear in mind the true rating of these batteries

Thanks for Highlighting Mods. Just wanted to make sure any owners were advised of a possible safety issue.

You're welcome, car147 & we agree, we'd rather possible safety issues are posted.
