That one the overheating is further up the board, 4 out of thousands, but it's not a one off and I'm sure not the last we will see. At least it's not blowing the batteries. Wish I could cancel and order that has already shipped by snail mail. and so far only one that we know what was on top of it - my Silver one is still performing great, am wondering if the ones that have blown are being pushed too hard and can't actually cope with what they say it can, notice in the specs on the website it says Max output 10A - so does that mean the board cannot handle any more than that, and if so maybe people are thinking because they have a battery that can handle 20A in it then it is okay to go higher. Just my thoughts on the matter. I haven't been pushing mine and maybe all those that have one and are not having problems are doing the same.

It would be very bad practice to make something that does not have a safety margin above the safety limits Bob and would go some way to explain it. It could be cheap components (not very precise tolerance to their nominal value), but this should be designed in for years designers have worked with 10% resistors, 25% capacitors and transistor gain varies by far far more. Feeling like poor design or the bean counters swapping components for low spec ones to make an extra yen.

I hate bean counters and that's why I never push any of my Chinese made mods to their limits, I want to live a few more years yet Remember years ago when I worked on the railway we had a Sunday train to Bognor Regis 12 cars, maybe 5% of the train occupied, I suggested that we fill up the train by offering a cheaper fare, answer was "we would lose money"

I have the black one been using it since tuesday with efest 2500 35a and no probs with it so far (he says crossing fingers and toes)
I havn't pushed it though tried it at 30 but way to much for me,also tried it at 25w it was ok but i find at 20w suits me,
that's on both the Atlantis and subtank.I am going to get another mod capable of sub ohm was thinking seigele 30w myepack
says they will have them in around end of month but i havn,t seen any reviews for them yet.

VapingShooza & pBasardo gave it glowing reviews, before these events came to light

I apologise now , for not reading the entire thread , but I have a problem with the Cloupor and charging , especailly considering other batteries and charging. Now , cloupor say , DON'T charge through USB through a PC.Before and with the likes of Ego batteries we know to NOT use USB via a wall adapter ( most Ego battiers don't come with a wall socket ) because of the current output being to high for the battery , now we have a mod that totally reverses this and people wonder why people are getting confused. I've said this before , but us vapers NEED an industry standard for charging batteries IN THE DEVICE , otherwise we are going to have a lot more accidents like this.Just to add , what if the device hadn't started to vent while being plugged in , but the device was very unstable. It could probably only take one knock in someones pocket for it to start melting and in someones pocket or bag be very dangerous , not to mention very damaging to vaping. Andy My original TW Tornados many moons ago were supplied with a mains adapter and usb lead. OH still uses Ego type batteries which we have always charged using the adaptor/USB charger. I have never charged using USB through a PC/Laptop and have never had a problem. Adapter output is 5V 500ma, charger part input is 5V 500ma, output 4.2V 420ma. That seems balanced to me.
