Hi!
Well I've been lurking around here for the past couple of weeks and finally my first ever vaping kit arrived today, the Kanger Evod Glass starter kit. However, I have a problem (I think!)
Filled the tank no more than two thirds full and let it stand for a good 45 minutes plus but from first fire up and ever since its making continual gurgling/popping sounds. The vape is also pretty hot but guess that's down to the 1.5 ohm coils?
Its already sent me back to the rollies so any help/suggestions much appreciated! Thanks in advance,
Malc.

I'm not too familiar with that equipment, but it sounds like you may have got too much liquid on the coil. Not sure I would be too worried about the popping sounds, but it shouldn't be gurgling. But stick with it. It may burn off and you will be fine. I'm sure others more experienced will chirp up soon.

I'd blame the 1.5 coils, almost 12 watts on an Evod sounds high to me although I realise that's what is supplied with the kit. Does it get any better with use, ie as the battery voltage decays ?
Maybe order some replacement coils at 1.8 or 2 ohms and how that goes.

I appreciate the low ohm coils will generate the heat and there is most definitely no liquid in the centre tube, just a bit disconcerting for a first time user that's all.

Welcome Sizzers, and hope I may be able to shed some light on your problem. First of all, make sure that you fill the tank as full as it will go - these tanks work on a small pressure difference (vacuum) and as you vape down the juice the difference increases to ensure that you don't end up with too much juice on the wick. This may be what you have inadvertently done. Second, don't be dismayed by the popping sound - this is simply the coil doing it's job, and will settle down after a couple of tanks as the juice caramelises on the coil. Thirdly, if you think that there is some juice which has found its way into the airway, remove the tank from the battery, and with some tissue or kitchen towel underneath the tank, blow gently but firmly down the driptip, purging any stray drops of juice from the chimney. It does all sound a bit worrying if you are not used to the sounds and sensations, but things should settle down and you will then be able to enjoy your vape. As has been suggested above, it might be worth getting some 1.8ohm coils as the 1.5 ohm ones are a bit too punchy for your battery. Alternatively you could consider buying a more powerful battery . . . (that's a joke, BTW!). Hope this helps

Gurgling issues on a bottom coil clearomiser is usually flooding on the coil. Cover the drip tip of the evod with some kitchen roll and shake vigorously - remove and you will probably see some dampness. Try another vape and see if the gurgling is reduced/gone - if so then repeat whenever it gurgles. All Kanger tanks do tend to gurgle a bit as they get low on juice too so refilling may help. Popping is normally a good thing as it shows its wicking well and you get used to it. 1.5ohm heads on an evod battery is probably too low ohms for the output however and the wicking may be struggling to keep up - evods normally give a cool rather than warm vape - I used to use 1.8 or 2.2 ohm heads once upon a time when I used evods. EDIT: dang chykensa beat me to it lol

Thanks for all the input guys.
Although I received the kit yesterday I wasn't going to start with it until the weekend when I had a bit more time to myself but couldn't resist! I'll certainly take everything on board and particularly trying higher ohm coils. I was a little concerned beforehand about the 1.5 ohm ones but that's what the kit is supplied with and I particularly wanted the glass tank.
Anyway, I'm going to leave it to one side for now until I have some proper time to myself as I don't want to start frustrating myself at the beginning!
Edit: Appears that the only alternative to the 1.5 ohm dual coils are 1.8 so is that likely to make much difference? Cheers.

E.g. on a fully-charged battery, that 0.3 Ohm difference will result in a 2 Watts(lower) difference through the coil, making the vape cooler and giving the wick chance to keep up supplying juice to the actual coil. Also, make sure the coil head is properly screwed into the base

Hi Sizzers, I started with the same kit as you and in my experience a "little" popping & gurgling is inevitable. I've since graduated to the Kanger EMOW which has an air control thingy on it. Not only do you get a better vape with the air control, it also helps reduce the amount of popping & gurgling. I also have Mini Protank 3 and again, I think a "little" noise is "normal". The experienced guys know what they're talking about and I'm going to try 1.8 ohm coils too when I next order. I'm also new to vaping so a "bit of popping & gurgling" is "normal" for me.

This is a really easy fix if it is gurgling Sizzers - tissue paper optional (e-liquid in eye not recommended please note) But seriously long term you might need those 1.8 ohm coils and then progress to rebuilding (I have tanks that are really old so it's not a prob anymore for me) which someone else can advise

Hi again all,
And thanks again for all of the replies. Still busy at work at the mo but I will certainly be following all the good advice regarding the gurgling. However, I am pretty concerned about the hot vaping.
The supplied coils at 1.5ohm really are too hot for me to vape, so are the ones at 1.8 likely to make much of a difference? It does appear that these are the only two coil options which is going to be a bit of a bummer, and although after what I thought was fairly thorough research for an ideal starter kit this is something which I obviously missed.
Anyway, sadly back to work until later.

Found some 2 ohm coils here and I thought PT3 and Evod glass coil heads were interchangeable as most sights say they are. However link below States not interchangeable with other clearos blah blah blah which seems a bit strange to me. Maybe drop them an email enquiry or give them a buzz first unless any other members have experience with them. www.justvape.co.uk/product/kanger-protank-3-coils/
