I certainly used to be an 'owl'... but now I still like my lie ins PLUS I can't stay up late... so, I guess I'm a confused pigeon... OR just getting old! www.bbc.co.uk/news/health-27161671

Clivia... I'm lucky to be able to sleep in 5 days out of 7, but even that's not enough now! BTW what animal has 8 legs, or is it 2 four legged... or possibly 4 two legged ???

Balanced here too, up 7.30am 7 days a week, go to bed around 12.30-1am. Some days an afternoon kip wouldn't go amiss, but I generally resist

Bed at midnight, up at 06.30, regular as clockwork, I hate lie-ins, they wreck my body clock - it's a pain, but I reckon it's my age that has a lot to do with it. On the rare occasion that I sleep in I feel rough as rats and have to have a nap mid-afternoon - what's that all about!?

What is this sleep of which you speak?
My body clock has been completely and utterly fecked for months now. It started with some lovely sleep-maintenance insomnia, but now I struggle to get to sleep as well as waking up after a couple of hours and struggling to get back to sleep again.
I'm fine if I can spend most of the morning in bed half-asleep, but screwed if I have stuff to get done or places to be.
Cutting my caffeine consumption/avoiding it in the evenings and lowering my nic strength last thing doesn't seem to make a positive difference and going without alcohol doesn't help. In fact depriving myself of a few pints a week only makes me feel miserable.
I might beg for some sleepers next time I see my doctor, perhaps my body clock can be chemically reset? We both agreed it was a last resort though.
/rant.

I'm a lark...haven't been up later than 6.30 for years. 6.30 on Sunday's ...about 5-5.30 during the week . Always ready for bed at 10pm though...head hits pillow and I'm gone...unfortunately I wake up about 4-5 times a night. Think the last part is definitely down to age though
