Ganstaz
got two of these temp mod things on the go, both clones not the real deal but tbfhimo it doesn't make that much difference.
i feel the need to exercise my rights to freedom of speach on this matter.
there are a lot of posts on this forum where you have some techheads who beleive it is cool to be at the forefront of technology biggin up these devices. Tillyftw pronouces the said temp control devices to be shite
why i hear you ask
I am all for safer vaping but not at the cost of LIFE
hear me out here
I know dr spock and mr zulu like posting graphs and nightvison shots of these temp capabilities but for us normal people, we need to know what the crack is. i am here to explain this in real world terms
1. If you use one of these devices you need to be prepared to fanny about with everything. Your coil, wick, center pin, take your bats out to reset it every hour or so, keep having to ******* put your atty in and off again, it is a right pain in the ass man.
2. If you buy one and do this you will spend over ONE QUARTER OF YOUR LIFE dicking about with your temp settings/setup. This is no life for anyone.
3. You will spend less time with your family and get sacked from your job, all for arsing about with your vape device
4. The technology is not even close to being stable, reliable and usable for a normal person who doesnt enjoy prancing about with settings every 30 freaking seconds
5. I don't know about you, but i just want a faff free vape that hits the spot like, you will not get one with is device
6. Your sex life will suffer
7. In around 5 months, 3 weeks and 17 days from now, some massive nerd in some university will announce that temp control vaping and using ni200 is no safer than just using some bloody kanthal
I won't make many friends by saying this but, to summarize, do not buy this unless you are a massive geek, it sucks pretty hard.
Kanthal ftw

Yep, that pretty much stands as vaping with temperature today......Find fault, question it, if you don't it will never move forwards. For me at the moment it's a hobby, when this hobby wears thin, and it will, this just isn't user friendly enough to use everyday.

Tried it for around a week and left it alone. The way i vape I never get dry hits The way I vape i get the most satisfying vape i need The way I vape Temp control means nothing to me, I don't need it nor does it give me anything better than I already get using kanthel with cotton
Some love it, some like it, some don't like it some hate it.... For me I just don't need it... and it's as the OP says, takes up a load of your time you could spend vaping or buying new things to vape with...

While I love the idea of temperature control for our protection, I have to agree that it certainly isn't faff free and it won't ever be with this method of measurement. While it's ingenious, sadly, it's a FAIL!

From my point of view, this is progress. It`s just part of the progression of ecigarettes. From dry burning cigalikes to the present day there have been many innovations in design and usage. After lots of use and a steep learning curve, this IS pretty faff free. The nature of the devices mean that we are learning how to use the mods. There isnt really anything out there to tell us how to use the protection efficiently. That is what the threads are about. But when it comes down to it, you dont like the threads, you dont read them along with all the other threads you dont want to take part in, what`s the problem? You dont have to buy them, you dont have to take part or read the threads. They really arent much more to buy than many other similar powered devices. It`s just one more setting on an ecig and it IS progress. The threads and hype about them has been from trying to understand them and LEARN. They are not easy things to understand and we are ALL learning, forgive me and others from trying to help with that, that has been my only motivation with what I have written. Just ignore it, what`s the problem

I'm with TillyFTW mostly, too finnicky and too much faff for little gain. It's great to see progress I agree and I do appreciate the threads from the so called tech heads. Without them and those willing to spend the time to suss them out things would stagnate and we wouldn't get progression. I got a DNA40 and was underwhelmed, but I don't have the time or desire to spends hours faffing with it. Going back 12 months I could say exactly the same about a Kayfun but with the help of the forum it became a doddle. So at the moment although I'm in the dna40 is shite camp I expect that to change in the future.

Great post TillyFTW, you do make me laugh. It is always a breath of fresh air when a poster does not take themselves too seriously and is happy to take the pi$$ out of themselves.

Sorry but i must be the odd one out on this. Since using temp control ive had no probs at all. Ok my first couple of coils were a bit iffy. Ive had no probs with ohms jumping about, none of my atties have played up causing false readings, and i hardly ever have to touch any setting once ive set the temp and watts and i use mine all day at work. It has also allowed me to get into sub ohm and duel coil builds that in the past i avoided as they always turned out to be too hot and harsh using kanthal. It has also improved my juice as its now smooth and does not taste like its being burnt. At the moment ive got a billow on the go with dual coils at 0.06 ohms which is what i aimed for and ive been using it for two days now and nothings changed. So i dont get how temp control is suddenly a pile of crap, it works for me and i would never go back to kanthal.

Same here, occasionally I might have to adjust the 510, or re seat the atty, I now have 3 at least one is being used for my ADV at any one time.
Only thing I can think is you have bad/poor connections somewhere, as that will cause no end of issues, or your coil was still warm when you calibrated it.
