Is the nic too strong?

Yes phtumshk PG allergy was the first thing i looked up before i posted on here & yes i suspected juice going up the chimney may be the problem.

Just a random thought from me dinamic22 . . . what type of Drip Tip is he using?

As I have known of vapers having an allergic reaction to the materials, generally the plastic/delrin type and that's given them a ' burnt ' sensation on the lips.

Although it might not be relevant in your grandson's case  . . . .

Dont forget that when you start vaping it is a little different to smoking... might just need a little time to adjust.

I think maybe the nic is too strong, I smoked 25+ a day and 18mg made me cough.

That rules that one out then Di . . . I've not heard of anyone having a reaction to SS, although I guess someone somewhere might have.

I just wonder if , as a young lad who knows his own mind, he is using low ohms on his mod and what he may be describing is a combination of nic hit, pg hit and dry hits. If he doesn't know what he's doing and is using duel coils it could well be a combination of all the above.
I sub ohm a bit and the as mentioned 80% Vg and next to no nic (4mg max) is the way to go. I just wonder if he's got his set up wrong, sub ohming or not. We all remember those days! Dry hits, running coils for months, not knowing to take the top off to get rid off the vacume if your not wicking etc etc.
so to summarise wrong nic for his set up and a case of 21 year olds know best ?????

Thank you for your reply & i suspect you may be right even though he said he wasn't sub ohming but on everyones replies it seems as though the little (6' 2") shit is doing this ah well it looks like i will have to get my out again & make him some lower nic juices.

I agree that RA isn't a "strong menthol" usually.......except when sub-ohming the menthol ramps up quite a bit after a few heavy hits. I and others might be wrong and it might just be a case that the nic is too high for him or it could be that he's being a very naughty boy and sub-ohm vaping and telling porkies to Granny

Sore lip? hmmm, been there. In my case it was using the drip tip incorrectly. I used to just touch the tip to my lips so fresh warm vapour was hitting my lips directly (maybe dehydrating the skin). Tell him to put it IN his mouth. Longer drip tip maybe?

The question about the nic strength, I'd just drop the nic to 6mg. Yes I can taste nic too, that helped me drop to 6mg, peppery indeed.

tbh the menthol isn't that strong in Red Astaire, the blackcurrant overpowers it. I hate menthol but RA is my alternative ADV.

To sort out the flavour let him sample your concentrates. Just one drop on his finger, rub it in and taste - identical to the vape.

Ripshod i asked him if he wanted to come to my house & sample all the flavours but you know what young uns are like they haven't got a minute to spare, i've told him to pop round for some lower nic juice so maybe i will get a visit tonight if i'm lucky.

Try him with some unflavoured eliquid dinamic22. Mix just base and vg, and base and pg, 10 ML or so of each, get him to vape that and see if it works. If he gets stinging, it's an allergy most likely. Some folk are sensitive to PG in particular.
