Help just got an M80 from MyEpack, excellent service as usual!
Love the m80 so far, doesn't seem to be any delay when firing from sleep and the sprung centre pin has a good weight to it.
But I can't get the temp mode to work as expected.
I've wrapped a 0.2ohm non contact ni200 coil (formed on a machine screw) on my magma clone. But even at the lowest temp setting (200degF), the coil glows as I fire it. The temperature display very slowly increases as I fire it, but doesnt seem to be related to the actual coil temp.
Will have another play with it tomorrow, but wondered if anyone had any ideas?

Ah, might have been a bit hasty, just made a new coil, and tried on the m80 and my dna40
Getting the same weirdness on both.
Will have to try another atomiser tomorrow, wonder if I'm crushing the wire in the posts on the magma...

PS: you have one of the devices i am predicting to be a device of the year due to it's pricing and feature set for this price,

Do you have evenly spaced wraps.....also don't pulse fire the coil on temp mode or other.....doesn't need it. What Ni200 are you using?....

Tried a few more builds on my trusty Taifun instead, works great on dna40, but not on the m80. Nicely even spaced coils due to the machine screw I'm wrapping on.
It behaves the same in temp mode with ni200 as it does with kanthal. The temp shown slowly increases but doesnt appear to have any relationship to the coil temp. The watts shown starts low too, at 5 - 7 watts and then slowly increases.
I've wicked the latest build up, and the dna gives a nice strong hit very quickly, but the m80 just builds up very very slowly.
I'll try to give it a couple more goes tonight, but not looking good so far

Try resetting the M80. An open paper clip will fit the hole.
I've searched everywhere but can't find a copy of the instructions. Is there anything in there about a 'learning' or 'refining' mode similar to the DNA40?
ETA: I gotta buy one now, just to satisfy my curiosity!! I've held back on the DNA40 but I like smok's products lately.

Here's a quick video of what it's doing
Made a much bigger coil this time. 0.22 ohms at rest (reads the same on the dna40)
Also, after firing once, the 'at rest' resistance isn't remembered, and it rereads as 0.83

Just tried resetting a few times, but no difference
Think I'll have to wait until someone else can try.
Works great for kanthal though, can't fault it so far in normal mode.
Nothing useful in the manual,, 200 to 900F resistance between 0.1 and 3 ohms.

I have purchased an M80 from Ash myepack i will review it in time but mine is acting in the same way and i am using a Smok GCT with the supplied NI200 coils. Not too sure about this so called temp control feature, it certainly does not work the same as a dna40. The rest of the device is great but a big thumbs down for me on the Temp Mode. It is reading the ohms of the coil constantly and correctly imo though. It is just the ramp up time, me thinks it is inbuilt into the chip for it to do this

So does the temp feature not work then?

How are you finding the GCT? Looks nice, but can't see any anywhere for sale.

So does the temp feature not work then? It does but there is this ramp up time as the output is being held back upon initial firing, i am getting a nice vape from the GTC Tank using the supplied NI200 coils though. As soon as my battery is charged i will put up a few pics showing each stage of the ramp up.

Hi Bobsbeer i had mine sent from Ash myepack free for review (Review coming to my channel soon) and they are available from his webshop £19.99 myepack.co.uk/clearomizers/smok-gct-sub-ohm-tank.html first impressions are it is a nice solid device, the retail package comes nicely packaged with spare glass tank and 2 x ni200 0.2 ohm coils (1 installed in the tank)
