Smok M80 Temperature Mode Help

Don't know how relevant it is but I just read the M80 only runs ni200 between 20 and 80Watts. Maybe try upping the power if that's possible??


paulymeatballs, i notice from the graph on the smoktech site the temperature appears to go 15 degrees over when TC is running. Could that be relevant to you?

I`m expecting one tomorrow as I am helping out a fellow member here to get one shipped a particular way. I`ll put the scope on it for a quick test before posting on if he is agreeable.

This thing seems pretty iffy at the moment, there is another thread with someone having issues with it. I dont mind being a guinea pig, but if they all need that kind of ramp up it isn`t ready for release IMHO.

i am not all that familiar with temp control Robby, but it was evident straight away for me.

Forgot to mention that the Temp mode also works with Kanthal coils.

That`s a bit suspicious, hard to see how it can work with Kanthal, it`s starting to look as if it is just controlling the board temperature which would explain the ramp up  ???

From about 13 minutes he talks about temp control.

It appears to be all over the internet with reports of this 5 to 7 second ramp up, looks like an own goal for Smok. Really shouldn`t have been released.

I`ve seen reports that the coil gets red hot at pretty low temps. That`s a bit scary, the nickel will burn at a certain temp, who knows what fumes that produces.

You have to manually switch modes unlike the DNA40 which detects the nickel. Not 100% on that but it looks that way.

I have messaged them by email and on their FB page to see if they have any answers. If it had been one or two, that`s one thing, but there are a load of complaints on the web about the ramp up. Frankly that means you cant use it to vape normaly so a massive fail and own goal by SMOK so far.
