Help & Adviced needed please
Hi guys I'm really in need of some advice here. its been about 11 weeks off the fags now and I'm really struggling again.
I love the vaping and my new vaper but my problem is that when I vape its after a few puffs its making me really flemmy in my throat and after a while quite chesty like I was when I was smoking. if I l leave off the vape for few hours I start feeling better so then able to vape again till the throat flemmy thing starts coming on again. the chest part is normally worse in the mornings when I start vaping
I have been trying to cut back on vaping but I'm now craving the fags big time again
I like the cigarettes flavours and vape drum or golden virginia 18mg have tried 50/50 vg/pg and also vg on its own which helped last time I gave up smoking.
at the moment I,m using nicorette patches to help the cravings but I,m really struggling and gagging for a fag
has anyone else had this happening to them and has anyone got any ideas I can try please before I go stir crazy...

Could be several reasons sealover1, any or a combination . . . your lungs/system are clearing and adjusting post the ciggies. The PG/VG ratio's of your eliquid - high VG does make me a little ' phelgmy ' though I've no option being PG sensitive. If you're not, then try a higher PG level perhaps? Or it could be the PG causing it for you, our individual systems all react differently to what we inhale . . . you'll only know by experimenting with your ratio's.

hi and thanks Perpetua (so that's how you spell phlegmy lol) have not tried a PG on its own will that still vape ok? was just thinking maybe its the higher 18mg of nicotine that might be doing it. paradise vape seem to be good at supplying different mixes so may give him a ring as well see what he says

The higher the nicotine the more throat hit you get. Pg will vape ok but it will be a lot less vapour as more vg = more vapour. It could be the brand of eliquid. My partner vapes fuzion vapes at our normal 50/50 mix and usual nicotine but i can't vape it as it makes me chesty and weezy. If it was me i would try a 80pg 20vg mix first and see how you get on.

Are you only using one flavour eliquid, try a different flavour as it could also be that disagreeing with you. I'm afraid it's a process of elimination, just change one thing at a time and give each change time to take effect or not before trying another change.

I'd go with too-high VG content...I've just dropped from my usual 80-20 pg-vg, only to 70-30 pg-vg and I'm feeling the difference, not as drastically as you but certainly more phlegmy (love that word )

Like Greg says it's a process of elimation which can b frustrating but one thing am sure of. If u persist & get encouragement from folk on here it can be fixed. If I personally were you I'd launch straight into self mixing at this point. Try @ukflavours for a self mixing kit & play.

Agree with all the above. It may well be the flavour your system is not likening. Also could be pg/VG ratios. A small mixing kit from everything liquid or uk flavours would give you the ability to make and try different combinations quickly and tailord to yourself.

I can't vape certain flavours without getting chesty so I would deffo explore that as well as PG/VG sensitivity.

I'm having to stay away from caramel flavours because I'm getting a similar reaction too, and custards do the same

You could sealover1, although I would just do a small bottle to start with . . . don't forget you'll dilute your flavour & nic strength by doing that though. This combining Calculator may also be of help: ecigvape.com/combine_calculator.php

I agree with the too high VG brigade I have been happily vaping 80% PG 20% VG for a year and I have just tried a 50/50mix which gave me the same symptoms as you describe - I would recommend lower VG
