just doesn't appeal to me. i'd rather less vape more throat hit - for practical reasons (like vaping in the lift!)....maybe even scrap the throat hit and just have less vape ('aint going to happen on my 50/50 mix LOL) I am getting a bit long in the tooth with this vaping larkie? Even Cameron only has one single coil clearo in his shop. That's how I know I'm a vintage vaper LOL I have always been 'behind the times' with vaping (apart from my smart 20 purchases) but still Someone explain this insanity

@johanino Insanity, indeed! It is also extremely antisocial when done in enclosed public places, EG pubs!

I prefer to have good flavour so sub ohm is not really any good to me. It is a bit of a fad at the moment.

Do you mean cloud chasing, if so it's not for me, I use 100% PG for better flavour & throat hit and the fog clears a lot quicker then VG in my experience.
I do vape over 30 W most of the time and 10 ml of 10 mg liquid a day, but have an iStick with an Orchid with a bit higher nic set at 8.5 W for more public places. I have fond previously that reducing my nic level increased the amount of liquid I used @ 6 mg I got through up to 14 ml a day than switched back to 10 mg and it went down to 8 ml a day overnight, it crept back up to 10 ml a day and stable for > 6 months. I love a warm dense flavourful vape which for me is about 34 W from dual wick genny on a DNA40 in temp mode (400 or 410 F) you could call this sub-ohming (0.11 ohm), but it's not cloud chasing and for me at least they are different things. The DNA40 in temp mode is fantastic for not overheating your liquid, especially 100 % PG which gives more vapour the VG at lower temps, plus wicks & coils stay cleaner for longer.
E: Dual coils aren't just for cloud chasing, they let you spread the heat over more wick and you can use then to keep the max temperature the liquid is subjected to lower and I find this also helps with the flavour. Though flavour vs temp varies between flavours so YMMV, I'm a tobacco vaper.

Have to agree with you. I am happy at 12 watts all day on a 1.2ohm coil in a kayfun. As long as i can feel the throat hit and have a little vapour to breathe out i am happy.

I love the cloud chasing when I'm at home but not out and about, sub ohming allowed me to drop from 12mg to 6mg so there is a positive side to it

but you will be going through more of the 6mg when your sub ohming compared to the 12mg at non sub ohm resistances

We get this every few weeks. These threads make me feel like I'm doing something wrong because I'm enjoying vaping at 50+ watts and low ohms... I know that might not be your initial intention but the threads always turn into a barrage of 'i dont need over 15w, whats the point?' posts. Ive tried many many ways of vaping and pretty much purely vaped kayfuns for a year. For now, what does it for me is big airlfow, volume vaping. I just find it far more satisfying. I dont go around blowing clouds in pubs or in public places, I dont try and make massive clouds at all, but they are a product of the best way I am enjoying my flavours the most. As with everything, each to his own! Not everything is going to appeal to everyone, just be wary of knocking things until you have really tried them. and no, turning the watts up on the kayfun or the magma does not count... I love you all and I love this place but I cant help feeling the dig at my style of vaping in these threads Please dont take offense to anything here as none is intended to anyone. Thanks for listening to my drivel xx

Sub Ohms and cloud chasing are two different things.

Who needs sub-ohm anyway. Take your 1.2ohm coil and vape it at 35 watts anyway or take your 1.2ohm coil, get to 10w on an iStick and turn it down.

So now someone explain the difference between sub-ohming and cloud chasing I felt driven out of this forum by the amount of threads on sub-ohming. Maybe it was paranoia? Who knows Didn't personally notice we got 'these sort of threads every few weeks' - didn't mean to offend and if it causes much more offence I shall ask the mods to delete this thread TomBut curious now to know the difference in appeal between sub-ohming and cloud chasing.... When push comes to shove it's about what keeps you away from the stinkies - not how much juice you are vaping; how you are vaping; and what strength Vaping is (note) an alternative to smoking stinkies and a hobby for many of us as well. Not something to stress over the finer nebula points

I prefer to have good flavour so sub ohm is not really any good to me. It is a bit of a fad at the moment. Flavours at sub ohm are far more enhanced to me than they were at 1.3-5 ohm on a Spheroid, Emow and Mini Fogger. Granted I'm only at 0.5ohms. Vapour production is only a tad more than before too. Cloud chasing is different to Sub Ohming, because you can sub ohm with out cloud chasing. Do I enjoy them both, yes. Does the other half, no. I wouldn't say it was a fad, I would say some people have found the vape style that they were looking for and the market is now catering for it, including me. It's what I have been looking for. Look at the technology that's now being released aimed at sub ohm RDA's and tanks. Granted I'm far more interested in RDA's where the technology is coming on leaps and bounds all the time. It seems like a new one is out every week... When was the last technology released for a 1.5 ohm plus Atomiser? And how many has been released over the last six months compared. Don't be scared of change...

For me it's all about options and finding your sweet spot, with sub ohm capable kit you simply have more options available for how you want your vape to be. My sweet spot for instance is 0.8 ohms single coil at 22w but I do sometimes whack in a higher or lower ohm coil just to mix it up a little. For me vapour density and flavour are the main things I like and sub ohm has given me more of both.
