Good morning AAEC I'm after some tips please with wicking and weather to set a coil straight or at an angle, I have a bit of a challenge coming this week a kaifun lite which Iv heard can be tricky . Am I i better setting the coil at a slight angle like I'v seen some do ?? Would you recommend I use the cotton wool roll or pleat compared to the pads ?? If you have any tips on what works for you I'd really appreciate it, pics of your build with the wick in would be fantastic as well if anyone gets a min. I do love a good challenge so won't be giving in, the lovely lady I'm getting this of hasn't the time to get it right with such long work hours so is hoping as I have more time on my hands I can have a good go at it , I won't be filling it up with my favourite juice iv learnt my lesson on that one before , thank you to anyone who can help. O I'm going to go with the microcoil

When I was running a KFL clone i didn't bother offsetting the coil. What I found best was a 3mm micro coil wicked with either rayon or Japanese cotton. Depending on the pg/vg ratio of your juice you may find standard cotton doesn't wick fast enough. I found wicking my KFL quite easy with the most critical part being how tight the wick is through the actual coil.

I use a 3mm microcoil using .32 Kanthal set horizontal and wicked with rayon. This gives a resistance of 1.1ohm. Provided you get the quantity of wicking material correct, you shouldn't get any issues with wicking. There are loads of good YouTube clips to give you ideas on coiling and wicking. Don't be too scared about them, once you have a few coils and rewicks under your belt you will wonder what all the fuss is about, and of course we are always here to help you if you get any problems.

I do similar to chykensa with rayon But for cotton I use less, have the col at a slight angel and even thickness wick coming down on to the deck in an L shape, sorry no picks of this. In all cases use a pin to cheek the top of the juice channels are not blocked before putting the top back on.

Thank you this is a massive help ,where do you get rayon from please and is it put through so it's pulled easily as it swells ??? Would you say rayon would be easier for me at first ??? I just realised what you wrote a bit more with rayon does it swell as much as cotton ?? Sorry for all the questions

Like to get them nice and wet first then you can Position them just right before screwing the chimney on. I been using 2 mm coils and dont bother putting it at an angle.

The tricking with the wicking on a KFL is not to obscure the juice channels (shown very well in VapingBad 's pics). Those blocked will stop the juice from coming into the wick. The wick type determines how much to use, the mantra with cotton is 'less is more' whilst with rayon pack it in tight.
