It goes so gloopy its like treacle had to decant some recently and was in a hurry took 5 mine to fill a 100 mil bottle lol. If I have a half bottle I blast in a shot of nitrogen to displace any air for longterm storage. Where do you get said nitrogen igual?

I think you can get mini cylinders for bicycle tyres. Though I haven't seen any for sale for ages.

I use VG nic but would be interest I g to know I admit. Only asked him to do it as I remember a thread aves back about peeps brimming the bottles to eliminate as much oxygen as possible. I'm assuming helium from a balloon would probably do similar and a lot easier to access.

Calling *-SARIN-* I think the oxygen is in the PG so not sure if this is any benefit but sarin will confirm. Sorry mate, had a bit of a busy weekend. Anyway, there are 2 oxygen atoms in each PG molecule but they are both bonded to a hydrogen atom to form hydroxyl groups (O-H). The filling of bottles using nitrogen is due to it's very inert nature and the fact that it is cheap and plentiful. Could you use Helium, hmmmm, never heard of it being used in the same way as nitrogen but it is also fairly inert. They top the bottle off with Nitrogen to displace and air left in the bottle that could and will include water molecules, PG being hygroscopic will grab these readily. To do it correctly you will need a special cap that allows for the removal of the air but keeps the Nitrogen in, a sort of one way valve. TBH is probably isn't worth the effort and you have to be careful not to add too much pressure to the bottle otherwise you get the sort of footpump and lemonade bottle rocket going on

igual no worries, what you are doing will get rid of a lot of the air and you would be better off firing the nitrogen across the bottle top rather than into the bottle if you know what i mean. Nitrogen is also lighter than air so needs a bit of persuasion to stay in the bottle
